If you choose to add buttons to your jumper I know how to add the button holes ( as they don’t show in the video). You chain however big you want your hole to be and then skip as many stitches as you chained. Then on the next row just crochet into those chains (like you would in the foundation chain). Then crochet as many more rows as you want your buttons spaced out. Then just repeat the above instructions for as many button holes you want! Sorry if it’s a bit confusing…but I hope this helps! ❤ 🧶☺

If you don’t really understand this tutorial you can check the tutorial by Stephanie Aurelia or Eliviona Halim but they did not use checkered squares and if you want it with buttons check out Chenda DIY but she also does not hv checkered squares you can learn the checkered squares from this current videos I hope dis helps No Hate The goal is to get a patchwork cardigan ❤❤👋👋

I loved this sweater and how you teach it! My issue, though, is that I'm from Brazil and our weight measurement scale for yarn is totally different...we use something called TEX, from texture. The higher the tex, the bukier, thier the yarn. I'm trying to find a comparable chart online, but it's been hard. I find that instead of doing a slipknot to join a new colour , just wrap the yarn over the hook and pull both the working yarn and the tail end through the stitch. Makes a nicer join that having a knot in your work

sorry a bit confused because it says 5 of each of the checkered (assuming not including the neckline one because it was later) and I have an extra of the dark brown checkered? also, are the numbers correct - it says 9 patches of each of the cafe late and the buff but according to the way the arrangement on your table I'm missing a dark one lol- I thought the sleeves were the same so I'm not sure if I was maybe supposed to use the buff checkered on on the sleeve instead of the plain buff which may have lost me a plain buff- great vid tho I'm just such a beginner

How much yarn did it take to finish this whole project? What kind of yarn was used (Arcylic/Cotton)? Very curious!

red heart jumbo or super saver (listed in the video itself) is a cheap acrylic yarn. the size is 4 (worsted weight) yarn and usually suits a size I (5.5mm) hook. jumbo balls are about the same size of 2 regular balls, 1 regular ball being about 236 yards. You'll have to measure yourself to see how much you might need. any size 4 or worsted weight yarn will do the trick. cotton will be thicker while acrylic will be softer. If ya gonna use acrylic consider recycled acrylic yarn if u can since it's basically plastic and does not decompose (like cotton does). it may be a bit more expensive but recycled acrylic yarn generally holds up longer and is good for the environment and a good crocheter or yarn crafter always looks for the best environmental options :)

for anyone wondering: Not sure about the creator but, from my experience making this, it took 100g / 360yards of yarn to make 8 full squares ( note i accidentally made my squares 1 row bigger without noticing so it’ll probably make 9 squares instead of 8 if you followed the video and made 20 rows )

I'm wondering the same thing, I would guess you just measure the square to the length of your arm/ your torso. Hers seems to be 6 for each arm and ten 20 regular squares for the body of it plus the 4 specialty squares. Hope this helps!!

I just finished this cardigan and let me tell you, it was hell. It took me over 100 hours and many, many mental breakdowns. My squares came out twice as big as hers, I had to adjust the pattern a lot, didn’t know how much yarn to buy so I was left with 2,5 untouched skeins of yarn, did A LOT of math and altered the pattern so much I was thinking it would have been a lot more easier if I just didn’t follow the pattern and just do it from my head. I ended making the squares with 22ch and 16rows which got the length exactly the same and width a little smaller than I would’ve liked. I would recommend if you’re comfortable with crochet, get an oversized cardigan you own, get the measurements from it and make your squares according to those cause the pattern is not very well written I’m afraid.

The mono color squares took 30mins and the checkered ones took 1,5h to finish(I was watching a tv show so I wasn’t just focused on my work which may have made me a little slower. I made the hand cuffs by measuring my own wrists( I was making the cardigan as a gift for my sister who is size M and I am size XL) and made them a little smaller than my wrists, I made the bottom and neckline ribbing after I was done sewing the body and measuring how long I needed them. I have made 2 cardigans(not patchwork) from Make&Do crew and I had no problems with them. After I finished this cardigan I realized they had a pattern for patchwork cardigan so I would maybe recommend following their pattern with the colors you want

I think one skein was something like 45₺ and I bought 10, 2 were completely untouched. Although I calculated how much it would be giving myself minimum wage with the amount of time I spent and it was more than 5000₺😄
