Yes..recently...Lavchenko and now this young girl, but still they need to overpass Russia, they produced as many as European, World, and Olympic Champions: Skholina, Cicherova and Lasitskene. We hope Ukraine can do that like you said, if not this young girl will become another Vlasic, after her there is nothing, it's widely know after 2014, Ukrainian's sports keep falling.

Well, unlike the Jamaicans, who are simply juiced up, High Jump requires a lot of technique -- and to be very very tall. Amongst the women you are already a dwarf at 1,79 m (quote by Ariane Friedrich) ...which is absolutely gigantic compared to the average height of women. Not even Dutch women, the tallest women on the planet out of all nations, average even close to 1,79. Currently the average height for all women in the Netherlands is 1,70-1,71 m ...which is already towering over the rest of the world. Mahuchikh is 1,81 m (at the age of 19) which is taller than the majority of GUYS in pretty much all countries. So, it is far more complicated to find a really really really tall girl with sufficient base power for jumping than to juice up some Carribean islander with roids and then teach him how to explode out of the starting block and run straight. When girls start High Jump you cannot tell how tall they will become. But believe me, the Ukraine is not a peaceful choir - they are a former Soviet republic and the Soviet spirit is still present there. If you are not "sufficient" you are being dropped like a worthless dirty rag. So any 14 year old girl who has fun in High Jump competition but who turns out to be unlucky because she does not become very tall, will be dropped by Ukrainian trainers at once. Don't romanticize the brutal comb out in the U18 classes. You have to go through hundreds and hundreds of girls to find only one who is remotely tall enough and remotely powerful enough.

I have been to Ukraine. The young woman are stunning. Tall, with porcelain complexions . But because of the economy and the diet, when they get older, it seems they become dumpy babushkkas. That is my guess-genetic advantage overshadowed by impoverished diet. But it seems to me that Ukrainian and Brazilian women are the most stunning in the world.

I was in ukraine during it's worst time after the break up if USSR and I travel there a lot and ukraine is a modern country now. The men are drunkards and die off early . The women live for long and live active lives ( not staying under home arrest indoors and in old people's homes like other old women in other countries) at old age that's why you see them slot on the streets moving around. Impoverished that's not ukraine to me. I have never found a home with nothing to eat. They always had Irish potatoes and bread at home and something to make nice warm soup with.

Уважаемый, я не мечтала, а только высказала свое предположение т.к. в свое время занималась спортом, а именно прыжками в высоту и, знаю, что выдержать такую мощную психологическую нагрузку, почти два года не участвовать в международных соревнованиях, получить, буквально накануне травму не оставляет шансов на победу. Но Маша всё выдержала.Это - чудо! Молодец!!!
