Yaroslava Mahuchikh 2.10M High jump Breaks World Record 💪 - ярослава маrучих

Ukraine's Yaroslava Mahuchikh set a new world record in the women's high jump on Sunday, clearing 2.10 meters at the Paris Diamond League to break a mark that has stood since 1987.
The 22-year-old world champion brushed off suggestions though that the jump had made her the clear favorite for the Paris Olympics, which begins on July 26.
"I am looking forward to the Olympic Games here. I am sure it will be a great competition with an even better atmosphere, but I know it will be hard and very competitive," she said.
The Ukrainian outperformed the world indoor champion, Australia's Nicola Olyslagers, with both competitors clearing the 2.01-meter height on their second attempts.
While Olyslagers failed to clear 2.03 meters in three attempts, Mahuchikh succeeded on her second try.

You know what I love most about her reaction ? She's landed on the mat and rolls over backwards, knowing that she touched the back of the bar with her bum on the way over and down, and that it was the sort of touch that sometimes knocks the bar down, sometimes leaves the bar up there. She knows that as her face comes up off the mat, the moment will come when she will look up and will see if the bar is down, or still up there - and she really doesn't know which it will be. Could go either way. Her face continues to rise.. She looks up at where the bar was the last time she saw it, at take-off... and... IT IS STILL THERE !!! What a moment. Many congratulations Yaroslava - a mythique performance 🥰🤩

incorrect. Watch Kostadinova's 2.09, she cleared the bar by centimetres, whereas Yaroslava brushed this with her backside. Kostadinova probably jumped 2.12 when she did that 2.09

When Yaroslava set the world indoor record of 2.06m back in 2021 at Banska Bystrica in Slovakia, at the age of 19, I predicted, in comments at that time, that she would set a new world record, beating Stefka's record of 2.09m.
