Awesome, I was just trying to get in some herbal study and my main objective was refreshing memory on herbs for varicose veins and I've got onto yarrow for a bit as I needed to get some new plants of it, and I saw your video about varicose vein healing. I wish I had known that for my dad as he had bad ones. I don't have but a few little spider veins but I can see a couple of bigger ones and I want to heal them before they get any worse. Thanks. i have planted some yarrow , but planted it late , i only have the leaves at the moment and i think the frost will come before it flowers , can i just cut and dry the leaves to work as well? many thanks for the video very educational

What does the salt do for the infusion?

Hello! Ah yeah, that's only explained in the longer version of the video. Basically, it's only to get rid of the remaining water in the yarrow to increase shelf life. Once you strain the oil in the following step, none of the salt ends up in the final preparation because it's not soluble in oil. :)

Could you possibly answer a question? I'm growing yellow yarrow in my garden. When I try to research whether this yarrow is medicinal, everything comes up as yes. But in this video, you mention some yarrow not being medicinal. How can I find out for sure?

Does it treat cellulitis?

not that I know of. I believe Japanese honeysuckle and rosemary are used for cellulitis.

@@colorcolorwad1202 if you want to air dry for 6-24h, you just need to add the salt in the following steps to absorb remaining water. But if you're full-out dehydrating them, the salt won't be necessary. However, I don't have a dehydrator so not sure about the settings, sorry!

If you dry the yarrow you do not need salt

Hi there! This yarrow was dried for 6-24 hours. It wasn't dehydrated. Therefore, there's still water in the yarrow. The salt we added was to remove the water issue. If, indeed, it had been fully dehydrated, then the salt wouldn't have been necessary.
