I totally agree...i cant understand how this show was focused on this very stupid, tangled mystery of getting back to their parents. tbf i do not understand the writers intent at all. if they wanted the parents out in a tragic way, why not kill them? if they wanted the parents out of in a cheerful way, why give the girls this tragic upbringing? why the absolute lack of certainty and parents dont show on these girls? why towa is so fucking motivated at all to come to this era from the modern times? why is she from the modern world anyway? is that serving any kind of purpose to this very VERY boring story? i would have much rather watched kohaku and the new team of demon slayers and them rebuilding this family business after it was all lost. also we could have seen a badass girl trio taking on demons, falling in love, exploring this new era etc. instead we got the most bland lead character towa, who has no personality or goals, setsuna who is just there to be the silent badass and moroha who is casted away to be the comic relief.

This anime/manga previously made great characters like Inuyasha, Kagome, Kikyo, Sango, Kohaku, Miroku, Sesshomaru, Naraku, Kagura, Koga, and developed them through adventures but somehow ended up making empty characters like Towa and Setsuna, and waste good characters like Moroha. The series kept the animation, the story and the characters but lost in the narrative, character development and other points that made it so attractive.

@@Kacangtanah78 The problem with the sequel is that they weren't allowed to have as many episodes as Inuyasha, so they couldn't flush out the characters or give proper backstories. Not to mention they wasted half of the first season with just retelling old Inuyasha manga chapters that didn't make into the Final Act. Because they were constraint with time, they kind of rushed the story and it was delivered very sloppy. The manga is handling it way better as they have more room to breathe and flush out their characters.

This show is absolutely my favorite. Even though Kahome dreamed for a different guy, Inuyasha was always there for her even if she didn't seem to notice. Remember in "InuYasha" 1- Kagome spent 3 days in the Feudal Era when she just arrived there. 2- InuYasha picked her up in the Modern Era each 3 days. 3- Kagome was trapped inside the Shikon Jewel for 3 days, and InuYasha looked for her all that time. 4- They both missed each other those 3 years they were apart. Plus, by that time InuYasha checked the well each 3 days hoping she'd come back, and she eventually did. And nowadays, They are a family of 3 with Moroha.

I hope we get Season 3 which focuses on Training Expeditions of the three. Maybe they can have at least foreigners as acquintances. How good will it be if they travel endlessly outside of Of japan in feudal era just to slay demons and they will now meet other demons where their grandfather and their fathers have not fight once and they get to think and figure out how to kill them. Of course with Grandpa Miyoga as the Adult in the journey they can get a little analysis with him.
