A joke that alot of people miss is Regina found out Janice was Lebanese and mistook it for being a lesbian. 😂😂😂

People need to stop thinking this is canon. Regina thought Janis was lesbian because of how "obsessed" she was with her.
@M95-t7c9 ай бұрын
no, the punchline is when janis tells kevin g that she's lebanese, there's a reason they chose similar words. And regina said she was obsessed with her but that was her version @@LunarJeishin
@M95-t7c9 ай бұрын
I HATE that they changed that in the new version and made janis' whole thing being a pyro

“Regina” means “queen” so her name was literally Queen George, i.e. it was time for a revolution.

One of the more obscure things that people never realised is that Mariah Carey was a HUGE fan of this movie. She did an interview in the UK at the time where she spoke candidly about how quoteable the movie was and how she enjoyed using the lines from the movie. Then she eventually releases a song with the line "why're you so obsessed with me" ('Obsessed' 2009).

I was actually a junior in HS when this came out, but I did not see it, as I am a guy and was not interested in movies like this. However, after seeing it as an adult, I just have to say 3 things: 1. You can't deny the cultural impact it had. 2. There are certainly some funny moments throughout. 3. While it is grossly exaggerated in this movie, I could not imagine being a girl going through the drama of HS.

The one thing I never quite understood is why Aaron acted so weird when he walked in on Shane Oman in his underwear. He was thinking he was going to swimming practice and in that scenario the bare minimum of clothing would be expected. It would have been way funnier if he has acted like it was normal and started undressing himself. If he was dense enough to believe swimming practice would he done in the projection room he could also believe they'd do it in speedos.
@charlotteatkinson7228 ай бұрын
If you have a sports practice in a non sports building you’d probably assume you were just learning strategy or theory or something not that you’d strip down in a project room to ‘swim’ 😭

Twice the large of 2 numbers (a > b, a is larger so twice that, 2a) is 3 more than (2a = 3 +) five times the smaller (2a = 3 + 5b), and the sum of 4 times the larger (4a) and 3 times the smaller (3b) is 71 (4a + 3b = 71). So we have two equations, from there it's standard system of equations, sparing you the details, a=14, b=5. You're welcome, and I'm sorry lol

As much as I like this film it's always seemed like a watered down version of "Heathers". If you haven't already watched it then you should, Winona Ryder and a very unhinged Christian Slater=a really good film.
@MuljoStpho9 ай бұрын
Mean Girls (2004), Heathers (1989), Jawbreaker (1999) At the most basic level, all of them are about the popular girls in high school with a newcomer in the group getting used to how they do things. Of course there can be more to it than just that. Any others to add to this list? Seems like there ought to be more. Doing some searches to see what I can come up with... Clueless (1995) kinda applies but it's also a more general male/female friend group instead of being about just the girls. The Craft (1996) isn't "the popular girls" but it is a close group of high school girls with a newcomer joining the group. Ooh! An interesting one was Sugar & Spice (2001). That's a good one for this list.
@d.w.strangeman49639 ай бұрын
@@MuljoStpho 'Clueless' would be a bit of a stretch but 'Cruel intentions' could fit (both passed on classic novels, Emma and Dangerous Liaisons). 'The Craft' is a good shout, outsiders rather than popular (Fairuza Bulk was also a witch in 'The Worst Witch' movie from 84). Never seen 'Sugar and Spice', may have a different title in England though. I'll have to give it a watch. Putting an outsider into a group though is a basically an archetypal plot in a lot of films. Degrees of separation could easily connect 'Mean Girls' to 'The Lost Boys'... And I love that, watch one film and end up with loads more to see😁

I actually just watched the new version last night, and honestly….I prefer the new version over the 2004 version more so because of the new cast….Most of them are in their early 20’s and actually look like teens (especially Bebe and Angourie) plus, Avantika who plays Karen…..is 18, so technically she could still be in high school. The 2004 cats, only Lindsay was a believable high school teen, the rest of them could’ve been in college.
