In this vlog I am trying out a local legend of a chippy in Sparkhill, Birmingham called Yasser Fish Bar. This has been a family run business since 1998. Growing up it was really good. Has it still got the standards since back in ty day?

Yo captain that was a good review and yeah I been to yassers lots of times ans had the food and it’s decent the price is good and the food well what can I say sometimes the food at yassers is good but sometimes it ain’t that good but it’s alright so appreciate you did a review of it.

I've been here a few times. The food is rubbish, the chips are undercooked. They make up the prices. It might have been opened ages ago, im 100% sure its not the same management.

You know, I've driven past this many times and never tried it. The chips have to be soft and full of vinegar for me. I hate dry chips. Nice one captain.

Nice review. See this place daily but never tempted to dry as heard it ain't great. Better off going to Ben's bit further back. You seem a bit down and distracted in this one so hope all is well bro.

Yeah Ben's in my opinion is better too. Alhamdunillah all good. Sometimes when the food ain't all that the enthusiasm and energy goes down 😁

Good to hear all is well. I get you, know exactly what you mean 😂 Try Rapidos food when you are next around the green lane area. They opposite the green lane mosque car park area. Good brothers, been going there a good few year's now and as I work nights one of the few places that be open past midnight. The smash, chicken and mix burgers are good.​@@TheOnlyOneCaptain

I have been going to yassers for a few years now- up until 2022 they were the top, I dont know what it is now but EVERYTHING THEY do is DRY. The chips donner meat their chicken all dry ? I dont know if its the oil they use, but post pandemic this chipsop went down hill. Brother if you haven’t please review highfield chipshop hall green, cod city sparkhill and jaqs (any).

@@79narz Donner meat has gone downhill now because of the people in the factories taking shortcuts and not making em properly compared to the real brothers that used to make them. The thick Donner meat you probably get from cod city, le cod father, junaids, khan's fish bar from the top of my head.

I used to go to showell Green Lane one back 25 years ago when I was young, food was half decent and so was price but as years went by the quality declined. Shame

All chippies are giving out fake donner and theres no quality in the food anymore, i eat at home mostly these days, an the kids these days know nothing about how daddy the food used to be, they will never know..

This chip shop is 1 ghetto chippy, they're very cheap because the quality isn't there and neither is the service. Maybe a local legend at 1 point but way way of that mark. The fish is chips is just batter. Ridiculous for a chippy. Go to Khan's on Church Road and see what food really is from a chippy.
