Thanks so much sir. Very helpful. I am using your CGT books, which really are one of a kind. As a selfish request, please continue to post videos, both instructional and performance!

I saw you in concert many years ago in Cardiff (you had a coughing fit halfway through the first piece, which broke the ice!) and I was so impressed with your trills that I became a bit obsessed with trills. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hi Stan. I've been looking at your stuff online for years. I didn't know you had a KZbin channel. I've just subscribed anyway

Your student Alan Mearns is the god of cross string trills . Side note… your Beatles arrangements are phenomenal!

Thanks for the video! I do not use the nail on the thumb so I really like that it's possible to play trills without it.

I'm surprised that you didn't mention making sure to rest the note on the higher string.

Literally two days ago I thought about suggesting you do a video on cross strings... I stumbled across this tonight. just crazy

Hi Stanley. You performed the first three Bach cello suites so magnificently I always hoped you would record the last three. I purchased your transcriptions when they first came out, thank you!

Very informative, thanks for sharing. I've almost always only used A-I-M-P, it's interesting to see all these other options.

Interesting. There are many ways to play 2-string trills. For upper neighbor trills, I slide mmaa, and when starting on the main note I play immaa. For long trills starting on the main note, I use paim, paim, I like that fingering because in keeps p and i on the lower string, with a and m on the higher string. Sometimes I play iimmaa followed by a slur on the lower string to execute a turn.

Hello Mr. Yates, I understand that you have been playing guitars made by Zebulon Turrentine in the States. I am curious why you chose his instruments as opposed to another luthier? Very interested in your answer.

Can someone please provide some note and left hand finger combinations to practice. Or maybe point me out to a piece that makes use of this. I have heard this before but have never played it. I think they use it in the Granados Danza Oriental no 2 towards the beginning but I'm not sure if that's exactly the effect I'm hearing. Thanks
