Shenzhen is the safest city! I and my wife lived there 8 years and we would love to go back and settle for life. We never cared at all about time of day or night. We could go out late at night, sleep in the taxi (by the way all the taxis and buses are 100% electric), etc - Nobody would bother. Women also there feel absolutely safe! I am sad to see that you are still not able to make most out of your trip. There is so much to do and see in Shenzhen - beaches, Pingan building (I think it’s 4th or 5th tallest in the world), the Shenzhen light show, Civic Centre, Shekou, Sea World, OH Bay, Windows of the World, China Folk Culture Village, etc etc. You should always connect with some locals to guide you. Or else you end up wasting your time and energy.

About the maps - There is a whole story to it related to country’s security strategy. Apple Maps work there because they pull the data from local maps. 😉 There are some videos about it. It’s quite smart of the Chinese to do so. Briefly to tell - the map data shown on Google maps to foreigners is deliberately skewed to avoid other countries peeking into China. Local maps work fine and Apple takes data from them.

@@iitnakanpur.. The biggest problem with India which I think are - 1. Socialism- Due to lack of free market and socialistic policies and thinking , indian industries could not grow. China adopted capitalistic policies in 70s now they are 2nd largest economy. We did in 90s and didn't do it fully. Kisan bill was also a step in industrial agriculture, thanks to our illiterate farmers we failed 2. Too much democracy - more the government less will be governance. Our constitution is giving power to too many people from center to state ro municipality to panchayat, and huge bureaucracy, which make the system bigger and harder to function.

India is great but that doesn't mean that china is not great. They are better than us in almost every sector. Check out the scientific papers they publish are highest in the world even more than US. China's boycotting Foreign companies and instead promoting Chinese company. Even their Railways are way cleaner and punctual than ours. They were able to electrify most of there railway tracks. While here in India Mizoram's capital Aizawl got connected to Indian railways in 2021.
