Always liked this type of handle, very easy to replace. I prefer the buffalo horn ferrule, the plastic ones are not as good looking, and is always a bit more difficult to replace.

Its advisanle the process to put the new handle, with fire , on the blade ? You dont remove rust from the spike ??? Best regards from DK ! J.H. 🇩🇰

The reason for burning the tang with fire is that the size of the hole in the handle is smaller than the size of the tang. The heated tang burns and spreads the hole in the handle. By doing so, the hole and tang will fit. If the hole is wider than the tang, you can use an epoxy adhesive to bond it firmly. I don't know what part of the knife Spike is pointing to. If it's tang, you don't need to remove rust completely. However, red rust should be completely removed. It is black rust that may remain.
Konnichiwa I’m in Kansai area , where I can see ur job I would like to go to your shop or work place if it’s possible. Thank you so much in advance! Matane
