In 2021 it was the 25th anniversary of the Toronto Ukrainian Festival, which took place at Jane St. and Bloor St. West in the parking lot, which was the original location of the festival when it started. Normally it is a huge event with Bloor Street West blocked to traffic from Jane St. to Runnymede Rd. and has several hundred thousand visitors over the week-end. It is the largest Ukrainian festival outside of Ukraine. In Canada only the long-established Dauphin Manitoba Ukrainian festival can compare to it in size.
The limited format due to the pandemic after a very limited festival in 2020, was that it was back in a bit better state but restricted to 100 guests at a time on a rotating basis in the closed off parking lot with social distancing through tables spread out in the lot. There were vendors of crafts and food within the area. In 2022 it was back to its original huge format with several stages and events over 3 days.
