I remember when Iko was doing an interview with Gareth for the first movie, he seemed to understand the English that was being used, but he'd just talk to Gareth in Indonesian and Gareth would translate back. Yet when he did the interviews for this movie, he had no problem with speaking it (even though it was a bit broken). I think its just trying to become more comfortable and polished when speaking with it.

I think they need to live in the US or places that use english as the language, because since i live in the US i can speak really well compared to the first time i came here 4 years ago. lol I speak worse than Iko, but he needs to learn english so that i'd see him in the Holywood movies! Biar bisa jadi terkenal di international! Good luck Iko!

Reyhan Farandy Yeah, allot of foreign actors who entered Hollywood ended up learning fluent English. Rutger Hauer's accent for instance is indistinguishable from a native born American. As for someone like Schwarzenegger; he uses a dialogue coach to keep his Austrian accent, without it he'd probably have a North American accent by now. Everybody learns at their own pace though. Iko wouldn't publicly speak english for the interviews for the first Raid, but he's speaking some now for the interviews for this one. I think the same thing is going on with Yayan now. He's just slowly becoming more comfortable with it.

i think what mr yayan really want to say about mad dog is that his (mad dog) move is only based on his instinct in fight, but ms. julia translate it in accordance to mad dog loyalti for tama .

There are advantages and disadvantages in every heights. Tall or short, both are same. And that's why there is no height restriction in Silat. It's all about skill. And btw, this girl of course wear high heels. And that means her height is not that tall but still taller than Yayan. In this video, Yayan is the same height as her bottom eye line. But if she not wearing high heels, maybe Yayan's height is actually same like her forehead.

can't wait till the 3rd movie, can they actually top this one? that's a hard thing to do because this movie worked on many levels and multiple genres, like I said this movie without the martial arts fighting scenes still worked as a superb Mob War movie, and if Gareth Evans goes into the 3rd movie with that goal in mind he will succeed yet again, you got me thinking about a lot of things that can be a possibility for the 3rd movie, a lot of people mentioned it was odd that Mad Dog and Prakoso were in The Raid 1 and 2 with basically the same look other than Prakoso was more of a kept to himself Assassin until called upon where as Mad Dog had a more active position with a Captain of the Main Organization, what if for the 3rd movie there is a side story mentioning that there were 3 brothers know as the Triplets of Death Mad Dog, Prakoso and another 3rd (Ruhian) character, and the surviving 3rd one finds out The Assassin (Cecep) was responsible for ultimately killing Prakoso his brother in the alley way, (Cecep) The Assassin who was killed by (Iko) has a surviving Brother a twin who was just as skilled but is a man with no Mob Affiliations with a family, the 3rd (Ruhian) character offers his allegiance to The Yakuza with the sole purpose of Vengence for his Brothers, (Iko) for Mad Dog and the Other peaceful surviving twin another of The Assassin (Cecep) character and both their families, I can see many incredible fights in this type of story line while keeping the whole Mob Crime movie feel to it

Toxie isn't that the truth about Hollywood, not only do they churn out crap after crap, but they have budgets for action movies upwards of 200 Million Dollars and for that kind of money Gareth can make 15 superb quality action movies because he understands what most important, not the big set pieces but the substance that drives movies to become memorable, spending 4 million dollars on a set just to impress is what Hollywood is all about, I hope I'm wrong but Gareth Evans is a serious threat to what Big Hollywood has become, like I said Gareth Evans can sign up to do a remake of Bruce Lee's Enter The Dragon tomorrow and I know he wouldn't mess it up, I hope they give him the opportunity to make Mortal Kombat it's a smart business gamble with minimal risk because he'd most likely would come in under budget and make a masterpiece of a movie, he makes great movies because he cares about the material, his hands have always been in every part of the production process to make sure it has proper quality control, when you get a blank check type budget if you are in it just for the money and not the art, speed of production is the primary goal and that's when director's start hiring more and more people to take the workload off to make their jobs easier but that's when the quality suffers when others are not as passionate as the director
