Geometry - Special Segments in Circles

Yay! Another video! Also, thank you so much for your vids. I started watching you when I took my beginning Algebra in college (math 082). It was my third attempt at passing it. I felt so incredibly stupid--it wasn't making sense. Then I stumbled unto your vids. Loved them! Got 3.5s and 4.0 in all my classes since then! I'm actually taking Calculus (math 170) in the Fall, and was asked to become a Math tutor! Holy smokes, I never thought I'd make it this far. Your classes made me feel like I could tackle anything! Special segments: The CHORDS(similar to the diameter but at edge/end of circle) RULE is the product of the first cord= to the product of the second chord(solve for x). TANGENT(hits the line at one point) RULE is multiply it self. In other words, square it. SECANT(hits the line at two points) RULE is add the line and multiply it by the outside piece. **Don’t forget to set it equal to each other to solve for x. That goes for every rule**

It's kind of weird though because your little gimmick is meant to make the kids excited for math, but you're also stigmatizing math and the use of your brain generally with it.

Definitely my style isn’t for everyone. I’m making it a priority to connect to the students as people. Then learning flows from there.
