Years and years ago I was lucky enough to play with Bob Weir from The Grateful Dead, met him before a show in Marin with a buddy, he asked if I played and then said "well let's go then" and we walked on stage. Crowd was small, it was a small venue but for me to be able to play with an icon like Weir was the highlight of my life as far as music goes. No one filmed it, only a couple of my buddies witnessed it, but I have it in my mind forever.

My favorite Foo Fighters video of all time. That concert must have been absolutely mental afterwards. You can clearly see every band member smiling ear to hear, chuckling in delight, and just getting right into it. You absolutely supercharged them, put energy into the band, as touring can drag a band down. Not saying you are better than them, simply saying that with the energy and enthusiasm you put in, you inspired them to match it, which made for an absolutely amazing rendition of "Monkey Wrench". Best video of the track by far. And no, definitely don't want to try and get up there and do it again, as you are correct, you'll just ruin what was done. One time deal, and you absolutely killed it! 🤟
@jasonswitzer17484 ай бұрын
And this is why it is so badass when bands bring up fans to play. It made this dudes day. He was given a shot, he took it, and absolutely killed it. It was fun for the fans. Fun form the band and fun for KISS guy. Win/win/win. Awesome.

I grew up playing country and blues until at 14 I discovered ACDC and music was never the same. I love Dave for the human aspects of things, he knows "EXACTLY" what's it's like to feel that surge of awesomeness , and for him to allow someone to come up and play is just one of the most kindest things any human could do for another so with that, I love ya Dave your seriously my kind of guy. I've had this same desire as Kiss Guy and even though I'm 56 today ( Still feel 25 lol ) and have made music my whole life since the age of 10 when I got my first guitar, I have "NEVER" been to a concert and I don't know why. The best reason I can think of is just because I wanted to be the singer so bad , I would just feel terrible , jealous, and full of envy to not be on stage performing. I've done a lot of stuff for an audience and my style is James Taylor, JOHN PRINE for sure, Jim Croce and a whole list of country guys from the 80's and 90's. I still dream of one day being known because my whole I've been told by family, friends, and most certainly audiences that I should be in the public eye singing and playing so we'll see I've still got a lot of time and we never know when a dream will come true so I'll keep on dreaming. Anyways RIGHT ON DAVE for allowing Yayo to live the dream even if it was only for a minutes , you're a very special stand up guy Cheers from Merritt B.C. ( The country music capital of Canada ) Jan 13/24

Legendary story and opportunity my dude - great to hear it from your perspective - I totally get the slow motion effect in real life and I also get the time flying by while you're actually playing - when my band was gigging, we would start the show and before I knew what happened it was done - everyone telling us what a great show it was and high fives all around all while coming down off of a massive adrenaline dump - I can only imagine it was that time 50,000 for you. Has anyone said to you that you like a young Tom Araya from Slayer - if not - you do! Horns up! \m/

I am almost 60 now and played my whole life and had my moments of electricity. Not that 10000 watt you got on your spin.
