Vince, a genius and one hell of a programmer. This was the start and the best of Euro-synth. I still love all this stuff. The last 70s was awesome but the 80s had Euro-synth music and some of the best metal bands as well. I loved it all!

And certainly a seminal synth pop album with Upstairs at Eric's. I still have it on cassette and play it on my old HITACHI Boombox. Given to me for my 17th birthday back in 1981. HAPPY DAYS.

Was a unique and incredible pairing over 40 years ago. That created what I consider the finest electro pop music ever. It had amazing sounds and soul too.

I am a teacher...teaching kids Dutch...in a Belgian school. They are 13 to 15 year old. When they hear these songs...they all love them. I have infected at least 300 kids with the 80's bug. And I'll be doing that till my retirement. 20 years to go.

Whereas the 1980s had that as well as HipHop, House, and Techno battling it out as well. Plus the 1980s UK British music invasion was even bigger than the first one (in THE 1960s) with more groups obtaining success through it.

Watched this on an old TOTP from 1982. It was head and shoulders the best thing on the show. Freshly innovative it was up against 70s greats such as Cliff Richards. No contest! Hook line on Vince’s synth amazing. It was really the perfect combo of new electronic music with Moyet’s brilliant husky tones. Hard to beat!

I'm 54 and this hit when I was in my formative high school/early college years. There was NOTHING like this...cold synth with jazz/blues voice. Dancy, drinky, party. I felt cool for a minute being in the know.

Same. The early '80's started great: eclectic mix with New Wave groups like Yazz, Communards, Cure, etc. Things got cheesy circa '88, but it was fun while it lasted. Pass the mousse and "Drakkar Noir", please....

Halloween 1984 I was in sophomore year of high school and listened to this at the high school dance party. Here I am --Halloween 2024-- still listening. THE BEST MUSIC OF ALL TIME!!! Alison Moyet is A QUEEN VOCALIST!!! Not that Swifty trash!!!
