I like old school rnb and jazz but regards to hip hop there’s only a few songs I like. PAC never interested me that much but I liked biggie more than him, even though I got bored of biggie real quick too, but I listened to more than just them two. I don’t even listen to mainstream artists in this generation either, I will only listen to one or two of a mainstream artists songs. But there’s a certain vibe I don’t get from old school hip hop that I do with hip hop artists I listen too. With rnb and jazz I get the same vibe whether it’s old or new school. It’s just an opinion, hip hop is hip hop whether it’s old or new . And the “golden age” tbh clearly wasn’t golden if they didn’t sell or get the recognition they deserve like new artists do.
