TBG is TBX in Norse runes. So yes, The Bass Gang. The interesting sound you mention, is overtone singing. Ekaterina Shelehova is a Russian born Canadian singer. She's opera trained but does a lot of unusual things with her voice. You may have seen her on various European Idol type shows.
