"Piri" is the last part of the Nightmare Arc (their Japanese release "Breaking out" can be seen as an alternative ending). In "What", the girls have been searching for Yoohyeon, and here they find each other again, but in the end they are all stuck in the white dimension. A Piri is a Korean flute that was used historically to signal danger, and that is what Yoohyeon does here when the members arrive. She is the one capturing them one by one, to rescue them and bring them to safety. They are together in the end, but still stuck. Dreamcatcher don't do happy endings. 😉

Handong was on screen when you asked if that is Yoohyeon. If it makes you feel better Handong's mother once watched Yoohyeon performing for a while during a concert thinking it was Handong, they were both blonde at the time. The lyrics are about feeling lost and frightened, calling out for help that isn't arriving, they all get trapped by something terrible to them. For pronunciation, say an H in front of yawn for "hyawn", yoo-hyawn. Also gah-hyawn. jee-yoo, soo-ah, she-yawn (no H), hahn-dong, dah-mee.

I believe Yoohyeon’s mother had a similar problem where she saw pictures of both Yoohyeon and Handong and couldn’t tell them apart either.

I've been listening to DC for about a year and just a few days ago I discovered what is a piri : ) Also, they are going to have a comeback in the 22th of november! So excited!

Don't worry. It took me about the same time to notice that the pillillillilli they sing is actually Piri-ri--ri-ri, aka the name of the song 😅

So, my Interpretation of what happens in You & I through Breaking Out is as follows. this is based on seeing the MVs dozens of times and from hearing a lot of other theories on the events in the MVs. You & I - Yoohyeon is cursed by the Spider Queen, this results in her dying or at the very least her being completely lost in a Nightmare. When the other members find her they conduct a ritual to try and save her and are only partially successful. At the end of it they are all trapped in the Nightmare but Yoohyeon is at least not completely lost. What - Jiu and the other members are searching for Yoohyeon, trying to find her in the nightmare. The entire time all of the members are stuck in these never-ending loops. They make progress but the dream resets and takes them back to square one. An interesting tidbit about this is that many of the other songs on this album allude to the cyclical nature of dreams, which ties in with the imagery in What. Meanwhile, Yoohyeon seems to be trapped in a room all alone, constantly waking and falling back asleep, but not able to escape. Piri - At this point everyone is lost in their own nightmares, completely separated from each other. They're stuck in a never-ending maze that just keeps repeating. Yoohyeon manages to sound an alarm and spends the rest of the MV trying to track the other members down. They see her reaching out for them but run from her because they're so lost in the dream. She finally manages to catch a few of the members, Gahyeon when she's on the phone & Dami, when she pulls her through the door. At the end you see all of the girls together, but still trapped in the nightmare. Breaking Out - Now that they're together the girls face their individual fears and overcome them. This allows them to overcome the red thread of fate and, finally, escape the Nightmare together.

I'm sure you can just google it, but Piri is a traditional korean double-reeded "oboe" made from bamboo with 7 holes. I am not sure if they used an actual piri in the song, though -- or a synth that emulates the sound - that whistle-like melodic run you hear in the chorus. Don't ask me about the story cos I don't know either as I am just learning about this group myself and haven't gone through all their catalog of songs and videos yet lol. Pretty unique concept for a kpop girl group to have this sort of storyline and the type of hard rock/metal music they use - I've never seen anything like it before and it's super refreshing. To the Dreamcatcher fans out there: any plans to make this story arc and music into a musical, like a rock opera? Would be perfect if you ask me!

"I'm not sure". Lucky for you, nobody is 😅 But you were close to the general consensus. Somewhere in You & I or What the other members went after Yoohyeon who is trapped in a nightmare. In What they are searching, but here they are getting more and more consumed by their nightmares themselves. The general consensus is that it is actually Yoohyeon who is the first to get more of a grip what's going on. She now wants to warn the other members (a piri used to be used for signaling danger). It is believed that it is actually Yoohyeon's hand reaching for Siyeon through the wall, and pulling Gahyeon from the phones, and pulling Dami through the door. And in the end, gathering/saving them all, albeit still stuck in the nightmare, but at least facing it together.
