Just installed the new update. VERY happy to hear the new and improved rotary. The new FM organs are really funky and intriguing. Lots of experimental possibilities there. Thank you Yamaha for listening to your YC users and improving that rotary!

Di you use a new formatted Zip drive? Did the update erase and over write the old OS version 1.01 on the zip stick?

@@marktaylorp just delete the old file ( OS version 1.01 ) and drag the new PGM 1.2 file over onto the memory stick.

The organ emulation sounds amazing. This is a great update to the YC, can we expect a similar update for the Montage and MODX?

I feel frustrated, as us MODX/Montage owners have also been complaining about the Leslie/rotary effect in our keyboard, but nothing has ever been done about user feed back. Still, i enjoyed this video and it was great seeing all these amazing Yamaha experts all in one place. Every one of you have enriched my Yamaha experience. I bow to you all 🤟

@@YamahaSynthsOfficial It's killing! I'm using it in a pretty extensive way while scoring this doc! I have my Polybrute plugged as well as an iPad and then I'll use it to control Halion, Kontakt etc... the new organ sounds are killing feeling very much alive and the new touch variations are on point and are helping bring more emotion to it all!

Wondering why anyone would want to use the classic rotor emulation after the studio update?

This kind of makes the YC the best in the line of Yamaha keyboards if you don't want to add samples and what not and strictly for playing. I really hope the updates for Montage/MODX users come through and comes through real good. Oh these organs sound fantastic.

Hi Yamaha, when are the CS and DX stage keyboards coming out? There is the CP, there is the YC, why not make the CS and DX and give the Nord run for its money completely? The CS-series (CS61/CS73/CS88) would have the organ section, piano section, and a polyphonic subtractive synthesizer section. Same as on the PLG-150AN plug-in board. The DX-series (DX61/DX73/DX88) would have the organ section, piano section, and a fully programmable 8-operator FM synthesizer. Also, any chances for pipe and theater organ models for the YC series?

Hi. Can your team show how to assign the hardware controllers on the YC to usb/midi connected devices like iPads etc. Love the built in audio interface but would like to know how to assign a controller(s) to change volume on iPad apps, drawbars on an organ app like the B3-X, and turning the Leslie sim on and off on a connected organ clone app. Etc.

I'm going to update this new firmware. I already have a flash drive that is formated and was used to save all my data. I have a question though using this same flash drive to do this update.. when I drag the new PGM file over onto the drive it cautions me do I want to replace the file thats already there (which is my old file saved I guess the old version 1.01) so do I want to do this? Or should I get a new zip drive and format it etc. and keep the old version in case something happens with the new upload... any suggestions?

just got an YC61 and went for the update to start with all sounds and possibilities, but the update go every time wrong saying ''check sum error'' and now only FM organs are working, while all other sound are corrupted, is there anyone who got the same issues ? thanks in advice for the answers

@@YamahaSynthsOfficial i solved it, i discover that there are three tipe of USB stick readed by this keyboard : one send you the ''not compatible hardware'', the second is recognized by the keyboard but if it is a fast usb stick it will complete the OS update without problem, if it is a not so fast usb stick the keyboard will read the usb stick and will perform the update but in the end it will send you the ''check sum error'' corrupting all sounds in it if you re-run the update with the right fast usb stick it will re-write the update with success and all sound will be ok !

Put the Bosendorfer 290 from the CP-series in the next update... I'll purchase a YC. Only thing holding me back from dropping the $.
