Also This was the absolute dream of YS, they chose hip hop, a dead genre in their country , as the only thing in their life at the age of 14-15, This Coke studio is the result of 12-13 years of incredible struggle , 100s of mistakes( extreme Drugs abuse, falling apart with one another) , 100s of good deeds(Supporting lesser known artists, songs about political situations , raising voice against women violence) , 100s of days when it felt fame was close but then it wasn't(Burger e karachi, Maila Majnu , Karachi lingo) . They aren't perfect, they aren't 100% a role model and they always say that themselves. Even now when you will see the BTS you will see how much skinny Anjum is (mostly naturally but also due to drugs) , However you will also see how humble he is and how much he loves his art. All of this started when Anjum and Yunus used to bunk tutions and go to Jokhay's studio as teens and record. Look at them now. They are at the top. Role models? No, Inspiration? YES.

"VINDICATIONNN" !!!! Jyoti learning from rappers and not backing down one bit from her detractors lol. Karakoram was the clear highlight for me, especially Sherry but Anjum's lyrics in this one impressed me most because he took the theme of the song and ran away with it.

This is the 4th time i am listening to this song, and it added a whole new dimension to my listening experiences as you guys reacted to it. The fusion of rap and rock was another feather added to the whole basket of diversified music offered by Coke Studio. I was listening to another American reaction and the guys claimed that this cannot be a live performance, well he is clearly limited in what creative and collaborative team can do. Imagine the actors and actresses who give live performances countless times with flawless perfection day after day, week after week in opera theatres. Here again Xulfi is a perfectionist who makes sure that the rehearsal is done enough to achieve that perfection which is expected from Coke Studio Fans. This is called managing the expectations, but people who have listened live performances can agree to the fact that every great artist (Mehdi Hasan, Jagjit Singh, Ghulam Ali) do stumble with Alap, Jhala and Bandish, but then they convert those mistakes into a creative stroke supported by skillful mastery of the art. Only a few die hard fans will notice such aberrations, and how that performance becomes un repeatable Classic. To Sum up I can only say that XULFI is no Steven Spielberg, but James Cameron in the making.

Only COKE STUDIO PAKISTAN & Xulfi has the guts in the music industry to experiment with 2 rappers of different styles and blend them seamlessly with a rock band for a track like this, it is simply phenomenal. The Coke Studio songs from To Jhoom to Ye Dunya seem to have a positivity behind them. The pandemic messed with our mental health and talking about it, esp in Asian communities is not always easy. Ye Dunya focuses on faith or friendship to ease the burden whereas Tu Jhoom was embracing and accepting yourself. Enjoying this little moment in time for the music community to collectively enjoy and escape in to music

I met sherry khatak and the drumer bilawal lahooti back in 2015 in a concert of ali azmat in karachi where they join the concert as an audience and now in 2022 i bet on that ali azmat is enjoying this song for sure. They were so consistent like on that they were trying to play guitar just on his fingers, so moral of the story is we've to see the struggle period too, they both are so passionate about music .
