In my opinion HOI4 actually needs less things to do, what I mean by that is to have fewer but better focuses because a lot of these trees are packed with a lot of filler or useless stuff that really doesn’t do a whole lot, but that just slows down the pace so you can’t get through everything or even a decent amount before war breaks out. And at that point the whole tree becomes sort of useless and an afterthought. Putting more systems on top of this and locking focuses etc is only making that worse, not better.

These achievements are not that difficult if you have a plan. The Gott path is actually the strongest and easiest path to take AS long as you have Full Federal Council Control, remove all Democratic guys naturally through elections and replace them with Non-Aligned, banned Communism and Fascism through the focuses, and do the Demands for the Alp states (which the AI almost always says yes to), become the Confederation (In Non-Aligned Form), and justify as you choose.

Yknow I really think they went too far with this DLC. Proof of concept works for Italy and Ethiopia. But if more and more nations are going to be like that where there is increasingly more crap to manage I may just stop playing. Switzerland is the only country with micromanagement this tedious. Even the Battle for the Bosporus countries are mostly just clicking a few Decisions or banking a certain amount of Power to manage the factions. The only problem with the Balance of Power as it is now outside of Switzerland is how janky Italy's events are, which _should_ be patched soon.

@@jerryx3253 The Italy tree has the same problems - too much stuff, with a lot of it being awkward to access. It's full of unique historical flavour that sets it apart, as a focus tree should, but it's so packed with pointless chaff that it's harder than ever to get what you actually want out of it. There's two focuses and a unique mission that do nothing except improve compliance gain in Ethiopia. Your key military focuses are arbitrarily locked behind being at war with a major, so you can't do any creative rush builds like you can with older trees. The entire political section of the tree is almost totally dedicated to improving passive PP gain, which Italy has no issues with whatsoever - they're in the same PP generation league as Germany, able to easily get over 2 PP per day and have all their political slots filled before '39. I *like* that it's a uniquely Italian tree that properly represents the country in this era, but I *don't* like how that comes at the cost of gameplay.

Yep, Paradox Content designers are pretty bad. They LOVE adding fiddly BS, to an otherwise good game, They tacked on 1000 side panels to EU4, added escalate war buttons in Japan. Its like the Content designers don't even play the game. or only play single players speed 1
