The year was 535 when this happened, not 536. The direct effect lasted a decade and the long-term effects on human society are still felt today.

Just curious, what are the long term effects that are still felt today?

@@androrobuiques9497 It was the direct cause of the dark age, introduced the Bubonic plague to the world and led to a nearly 1,000 year decline in European society, leading to the Renaissance, Age of Exploration and the Industrial age. More of a global chain reaction. The rise of Islam went virtually unchallenged because Rome was a shell of what it was, and the Byzantine Empire was in tatters, while much of the Arabian Peninsula and Egypt weren't impacted the way most of the rest of the northern hemisphere was, leading to an Arab Golden Age of medicine, science, mathematics and astronomy, while the rest of the world struggled to survive. I'm sure I could find more specific things, but there are many great videos and documentaries that go into more detail than I can. TLDR; Much of the world we know today was shaped by that single event.

@@nr1NPC Islam devolved into extremism as a result of world affairs, it didn't begin that way, and the world needed someone to propel humanity forward while the rest of the world was stuck in the mud. Regret what it became, just like Christianity, not what it was.

@@brandonbuckles826 It began with Muhammad slaughtering his own kin for not wanting to become muslims. He also destroyed all other religious idols etc in the area where he came from, even tho this area was famous for being accepting towards other religions. Also he slaughtered a whole village, killed all the men and boys - same day he married Safiyah after killing her father, brother, uncle, cousins etc. He later married Aisha when she was 6 and consummated the marriage when she was 9. Thats how Islam began. And no, 95% of muslims are not following the Quran correctly. If you knew anything, you wouldnt say such ignorant thing that it "devolved into extremism". Those considered "extremists" are actually the truest muslims.

Too much talking just get to the point. I don't think I can take it anymore. You've turned the worst year in human history into the most boring 11 minutes of all time.
