2000 and 2008 were of course notable interim financial crashes but we can anticipate that the next will be secular in nature (e.g. 30's and 70's) because central banks drove short rates to zero for years and they won't be able to foment an even more extreme financial mania by driving short rates to new nominal lows this time. They will of course resort to massive currency debasement but it will feed through to price inflation rather than being occupied by financial speculation. Four decades of monetary and fiscal distortion are going to be wrung from global financial markets via price inflation. Some assets offer refuge,So my advice Buy Crypto and Gold ,..... 🙏🏽 thanks for the interview. The ‘waiting’ strategy does not make sense as when rates drop móre, the house prices increase móre. I am always very surprised when analists talk about the market as if the market ‘happens’ to people. My view is that people áre the market. And oke, the big fund managers have a much bigger influence then the small ones, to move prices. For example, when retirees hold a number of stocks, that by itself will limit the downward movement. As a general rule in psychology, people pay premiums to companies that they perceive as less risky, as ‘the last ones to fall’. So, purely fundamental arguments and reasoning is insufficient to predict markets. I value technical analyses highly. The power of the big numbers is impressive. However, in historic times as we are now going though, ie questioning the sustainability of an ever increasing govt debt worldwide and thus probably redefining our existing financial system, the predictive power of TA will be a little less and the macro geo-political news a little more. What are your thoughts of the predictive power of TA during the last 5 years compared to 10-20 (30 ?) years ago?

I think that intelligent forecasting (company revenues, earnings, etc.) should not seek to predict what will in fact happen in the future. Its purpose ought to be to illuminate the road, to point out obstacles and potential pitfalls and so assist management to tailor events and to bend them in a desired direction. Forecasting should be used as a device to put both problems and opportunities into perspective. It is a management tool, but it can never be a substitute for strategy, nor should it ever be used as the primary basis for portfolio investment decisions.

David another excellent podcast with Chris. I believe Chris's analysis is correct and the market dynamics are very atypical. The market is clearly overbought and technically is set for a correction. With the large houses selling positions. Certainly, gives me pause for thought. In the mean time, dry powder is a good thing. Cheers, Mate.

I think investors need to be more active that passive. The need to take advantage of the volicity of currency is how you have maximum up side potential. Silver and Gold are a store of value against inflation and should be part of the portfolio and this is a proven historical advantage. Everyone is holding cash, but that means it is not moving. There is no liquidity in the market at the banking level and it goes all the way to the investor. The printing will begin. Inflation follows. The value of currency drops to ZERO. What is left? Commodities and hard assets. Where do you now see gold, silver, and yeah copper?

Your asking the wrong question it's if your in a strong uptrend how do you know when it's over, answer is when it breaks the trend line and fails the retest to get back above then now your in a downtrend until that trendlinde gets broken and fails to get back below the trend line 🤯

I think he is correct about people having a hive mindset. See the Asch Conformity Experiment. 80% of the population will lie in order to conform to the group. I have lived in an RV and traveled all over the US for the past 4 years, September 2024 was the beginning of my fifth year, full-time, in an RV. I'm looking at two houses, today and possibly two more on Sunday. All four are affordable, and if the price drops it won't bother me one bit because I'll be living in the house not renting it. $150k house putting down $50k so my note with buydown will be 5.75% to 5.25%. Meh. My first two houses, I bought one in 2002 and another in 2004 both had mortgages over 7.5%. Of course my first house only cost $60k and my second house cost $170k. There's the rub. People seemingly don't remember that house prices weren't always this high even though mortgage rates were higher than today! Anyhow, no matter what, I learned the lesson of buying a house and being cash poor. Not going to happen, to me, again. Will keep $100k stashed away earning interest and dividends (meaning not in high risk stocks). This guest is correct when he talks about older people not being willing to change and being comfortable. I have seen older couples drive up in a $250k to $450k huge Class A with a brand new Jeep in tow. If they paid cash for those shiney tows, good on them! But honestly, how many didn't pay cash? How many are still in high risk stocks and not taking precautionary measures for a downturn? I'm guessing 80% are doing what their peers are doing and it will bite them in the butt, eventually. The crying and gnashing of teeth will be massive. Getting old sucks but being old and poor is my worst nightmare. No way. Not going to happen to me, if I can help it!

The monthly chart of the SP500 is showing that the uptrend has still a possible long way to rally. If it behaves like in 2021 (same period of the year) we could see climbing another 600 points and then start chopping for some time or just reverse. 6400 or even higher. But if the 493 companies that didn't take part to the party of the 7 unicorns will start rallying, then we could see 7000 and everything rally. So fomo next year will be big. I'm buying yen and nothing else for the moment.

If you want my opinion banks being on the user fee system limits the ability of the fed to balance the economy. However it makes the banking industry more stable and the economy more stable as a result. Remember the great reset? What if it was your job to pull the plug and watch so many companies all of a sudden go bankrupt and see people carry signs will work for food? They already live in their cars soon they will be renting in cars. So the markets have been modernizing using technology using software changing policy at the same time as banking has been restructuring, so it is more stable as well with curbs in etc and the FED being able to stabilize it using large amounts of purchasing power. So what you see in the markets cannot be predicted by past charts its a new system that does not have a history. Now markets are not all one company so individual companies go up and down as they always have. Why should all companies come under pressure as if it was a gambling game? Panic selling and fear mongering and running to shelter their cash driving real estate into the place where it is stagflation. While wages are stagnated. I am not going to advise people as to what they should do again because each company is different and that is personal choice. I could tell people about trends and fads and reports on companies but that is the job of investment companies and personal financial advisors.
