I have 3 Auroras now, but only the less expensive models (Style, Ipsilon, DuoCart), but I do love how they write, so someday when I am ready to spend more I might go with another Aurora. I do love the feedback that Auroras provide, yet they are still wet writers. Everything I love in a pen! I also love the flat-top style pens!

I love my Aurora. It just feels really right in the hand.

I think Aurora is, these days, the most underrated pen brand. There are pens that are more status-y and pens that are more fashionable but IMO they are so comfortable and pleasant to use. At the end of the day, isn't that the best part?

I totally agree - they are wonderful writers!

I’m from Torino and I love Aurora. Have an Optima Black Resin and an ipsilon demo color. Aurora offers best experience and quality for the price compared to other Italians brands (pineider / Visconti and Montegrappa/tibaldi in primis). Ciao

My Torinese wife bought me one. She said that everyone had the steel versions in school back in the day. It is my favorite. We need to go tour the factory one of these days.

@@JohnKruse it will be a nice experience... they have also a museum which is worth a visit. as per the school pen, yep we all were using Auretta the school pen from Aurora.

Wonderful pens. I myself am unwilling to have too many pens where I just don't feel right using them, which means, no more expensive pens than I am willing to ink along with the cheaper newbies I'm having fun with. That said, thanks for a gray ink video! I myself have a J. Herbin Gris de houle. Wonderful gray. I use it in my Stresemann m805 . . . among other worthy pens.

I know this is a pen review but WOW I love that MB ink too! Auroras are also one of my favorite brands, I prefer the 88 model myself, but as you said, almost the same. Stunning pens.

Have 3 Optimas and an 8’88. Nibs are EF, M (Dan Smith cursive italic), M Goccia (like a Zoom) and factory stub. They’re all great writers, and I love the size- they actually fit in a normal shirt pocket, and are comfortable in my hand.

Beautiful pens! They don't call to me, but a classic Aurora 88 would be welcome in my collection.

It’d be cool if you still had 8 of them! I still admire you for having 3! I am definitely interested after watching this video. I love it that everything is done in-house.

Aurora or Pelikan? I've got an M805 and M1000 on my list, but am not happy about new opaque barrel! Thoughts?
@sajjadhusain41468 ай бұрын
Aurora, every day of the year. Pelikans are really nice. But to me, Aurora’s gold nibs (both 14k and 18k) are far more consistent, reliable and superior writers than Pelikan’s. The Optima and 88 look much nicer to me than any Pelikan Mxxx. For the money, I’d argue Auroras are much nicer pens and better value purchases. I own four Optimas and six 88s. Even the cheaper (albeit with the same 14k nib) Talentum is a fantastic Aurora pen that I’d happily recommend to anybody. The Optima is a near-perfect fountain pen.

You should compare the 14k to those 18k nibs
@sajjadhusain41468 ай бұрын
I have several of both in my fleet of Auroras. Both are essentially great: consistent, reliable, distinct and excellent, pleasurable writers. If pressed to still choose, I’d say I prefer Aurora’s 14k nibs. The 18k nibs can feel a bit too stiff and invariably drier than I’d like. But still, like I said, I admire and enjoy both. The only Aurora nib I haven’t tried is the EF. I have the F, M, B, BB, Stub, Italic, Goccia F and M. I have tried the oblique nibs. But they don’t suit my writing style, the way Aurora’s stubs and italics do.

I finally got an Italian pen last year, a limited edition Aurora Optima Calaedoscopia Luce Rosa EF in pink. It checked all my boxes. Then this year I fell for another one, a lilac Flex nib. I like that the grips are the same color as the bodies instead of the black. Love them! I always had in the back of my mind that you liked your Aurora Optima, so here I am.
