Tip for cleaning the concrete cover app tie a rope onto a long 2×4 push the 2×4 through the Culvert with the backhoe poke a hole in a small bucket tie the rope throw the hole tie the other end of the Rope to the back hole and start pulling real easy while running water through the culvert

Hank to help your gravel stay in place, sprinkle some mortar mix on it and them lightly wet it. You may need to add mortar several times ti get it to stay and shaped how you want it.

If you can get a strong rope or chain all the way through, you can use an old lawnmower tire to “pig” out the line. By pulling it through with the tractor. Using a Tire off the rim is easiest to pull. It will fold up and make a small clearing that will expand with repeated passes. I used that trick on a 18 inch city road drain that was packed full of sand.

Looks good so far! I've had first hand experience with getting water to flow where it's supposed to go. It can be difficult. One slight incline and it starts flowing back on ya. Sometimes making a little reservoir helps to push it along too. I hope you get the results you want!☺🚜 Thanks for sharing, Hank!

nice work, Hank & Gina. Yep, those culverts get logged fast. It wouldn't be as much of an issue if there was constant water flow. Enjoyed a full-watch, folks. Have a fine week. 👍🏽🙂.

You can add pressure treated 2x4s to your stabilizer arm pads on your backhoe to prevent sinking in or tearing up your lawn. I"ve had mine for years, just bolt on and go. It's a cheaper option than buying the rubber pads. Depending on size of stabilizer pad you may want to use 2x6. Happy diggin!

@HamiltonvilleFarm4 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Joys of living by a beach😂
@1946papafly4 жыл бұрын
Love your videos, but afraid that small corrugated pipe is just going to make your drainage problem worse.. A small pipe flowing into a larger pipe usually works, but large pipe flowing into smaller one rarely does. That sand, dirt and any other debris will stop where you introduced your new obstruction. Hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it ! Good luck.
