Have you tried Proper Job? That's a Cornish IPA, which comes bottle conditioned with the primary strain. The yeast is very vigorous and it has a distinct character. On a side note, did you brew the samples in the bottles?

Hi, I haven't tried the St Austell strain so far. Reportedly it used to be the same as WLP007, but of course continuous usage have changed it somewhat. Might try it someday. What exactly di you mean with your side note? The bottles are basically just carbonated starters after fermentation. So really nothing special and hence the lack of control on the fermentation characteristics.

@@britishpint I was asking if you brewed the samples inside the bottles, rather than in a separate fermentation vessel.

@@jauld360 Oh, I see. No, the fermentation was done in open 1L measurement cups. That's why I said it was pretty open to the surrounding air and somewhat uncontrollable.

Hallo Christoph, kann man dich auch mal persönlich anschreiben für die ein oder andere Frage? Ich bin ebenfalls großer Fan britischer Real Ales und versuche auch schon lange ein gutes Bitter Zuhause zu genießen. Die bisherigen Versuche sind zwar in Ordnung aber noch nicht zu 100% zufriedenstellend. Eventuell kann man da durch Austausch noch etwas verbessern. Viele Grüße Dominic
