The reason why a whole generation of people love and adore this movie because it's where the fantasy of "reforming a fuckboy" came true :') wishful thinking at best. Real life mein aisa kabhi nahi hota. Naina and Bunny would never be able to make it work because they love different things. Why would Bunny give up the life that he's always wanted for a do hafte ka pyaar? He would resent her and she would hate him for giving her false hope. All that said, Imma go rewatch YJHD now.

The most unrealistic part of this movie is that Naina went for a trip WITHOUT taking permission from her parents, the same parents who are not the most ideal when it comes to freedom,, Dont tell me there was not a big ass emotional drama, more strict rules, HMARI IZZAT KA EK BAAR BHI NHI SOCHA and TERI SHADI KRVA DETE HAI FIR JAHA MARZI GHOOMNA vale taane when she finally showed her face after the trip.

Honestly speaking the whole friend group except Aditi was kinda sorta toxic. Bunny being self centered to the point of being completely oblivious to what the people he considers close are going through, whether it be friends or parents or love interest. Naina, while the most grounded of the group, also had the tendency to resent others for her inability to socialise. "I couldn't flirt with Bunny so I will resent Lara for it" "I couldn't tell Bunny my feelings so when 8 years later he's getting close to me is when I will drop this unrequited feelings wala bomb on him when he didn't even know back then"... she handles it more maturely than others but still it's unhealthy to say the least. Avi is a whole trainwreck. Even keeping aside the personal disaster, on a friendship front too. He made a whole "we will live like joey & chandler" plan even though bunny was seeming disinterested even back then... then when bunny went off to live his life, avi fucked up his own life & directed that frustration toward bunny for not neglecting his work??? honestly speaking, I found him to be a much worse friend than bunny was. bunny treated friendship a bit too casual, took it for granted quite a bit... but avi got wayyy too codependent & is the type of person to blame others for his failure like naina, except unlike naina, he doesn't even handle things maturely & lashes out being borderline abusive. Fuck that guy honestly I woulda dropped him. Aditi is probably the best friend out of the whole group. She's not too clingy, doesn't play a dumb blame game, retains friendships even when there are distances. As a person, she might have flaws, but as a friend just chef's kiss.

I didn't grow up watching yjhd so don't have much 'emotion' attached with the film and I found this movie quite an idiotic one. 1. Bunny being the eternal casanova lost his virginity many many times but when his 'friend' naina (whom he never cared to be in touch with) meets a handsome guy, all his 'feelings' start pouring in !! 2. Throughout the shaadi, our very own 'doctor' looks like a hot super model, the moment bunny leaves, she is in her nerd, 'chasmish' avtaar probably to justify how lonely and miserable her life would be w/o the man !! 3. The most stoic and emotionless speech by the doctor sahiba firstly at aditi's wedding party and secondly when bunny first time professes his 'feelings'. 4. There's a difference between self love and being the ultimate narcissist. This guy, bunny crosses the limits of it. 5. Aditi from the carefree daredevil soul aspired to become the eternal bride all because his crush didn't fall for her!! Aditi taking her dslr and backpacking across the western europe ( friends!!) could have been a perfect plot but it seems Mr. Mukherjee was not that progressive in his thoughts. 6. Wake up sid was a much much better movie, unfortunately we the indian audience don't deserve such sensitivity.

Also i still live with my parents and they also are very much aware i don't have partners at all. Yayyyyyy.....!!!!! Also side note I'm sorry but Naina & Bunny won't work out. The excitement goes stale real quick, and initial romance bears off (generally speaking, happens to all) and when it does Bunny will blame Naina that he left his career in peak (even though Naina was the smart one who told their worlds are very different and they should live those separately). & Aditi calling her not French was META, i loved that joke. Plus why Avi recieved such a bad ending. JusticeForAvi

What I liked about the movie - Bunny is not a saint. We r used to see the heroes are pure white characters without any flaws. This character is human. He makes mistakes, but accepts it. Agreed, the movie is filled with many red flags. All the characters are so flawed here. However, I did love the movie very much. Maybe because I was a teenager when I first watched it? It looked so colorful back then. But later I did notice many wrong things in the movie. Nevertheless, I still enjoy the movie for its subtleties, let it be Bunny's "aaja" like you've mentioned or Naina's "Paani hai. Waqt do thik ho jayega" or her subtle change of topic instead of confession of her love when she sees Bunny moving towards his dream, etc. Anyway, nice commentary. I enjoyed it. Keep it up.

The issue with the most audience is with your video for this movie was simply they saw there desire being completed through this movie and you put a damn cold water in that. I have hear the most famous dialogue "Main udna chahta hoon, daudna chahta hoon, girna bhi chahta hoon bus rukna nahi chahta" just give them a thrill even they are literally grown adults. Somehow it helps them to live the dream they always want to live like traveling to the whole world meeting new girls and having the fun.

Haha.. I am commenting again but .. I identified with Deepika's character so much because she was an introvert and often spouted sarcastic practical comments to head in the clouds khargosh (bunny) .. features which I have so I know how good an introvert's portrayal this was. For Ranbir's character.. he was just as he had said .. a Subway Surfer or Temple Run type of guy kyoki "wo rukna nahi chaahta". Were there multiple universes of Ranbir characters... Wake Up Sid had a more practical development and the abrupt plot development of "dono apne sapne chhor dete hain" at the end is massive downgrade from the fruitful development from the main lead's arc spread over many years to come to a logical conclusion in Bachna Ae Haseeno.. in short ye waala Bunny is more like "Bunty" of sacred games kyoki wo to .. samajh jaaiye, waise shabd hum nahi bolte.

Unpopular Opinion: You don't sound like Rani Mukherjee, she has a cry husk and you have a different type of husk in your voice. A jovial kind of husk.

Loved the movie but didn't like Bunny that much.Naina's character influenced me a lot.I think I impulsively made a solo trip when I was 16 being influenced by this movie and character. It was a great trip and thankfully nothing bad happened though I was too scared while coming back cause I didn't know how to answer my family about where I am or where I went.I was late to reach home and I just went to my aunt's house.

Everyone sees this movie with different perspective and understanding. What i understood was love is one things which stopped people here to really move on. Avi loved his friends they were gone and was devastated aditi again avi never loved her back so she said yes to arrange marriage naina never really moved on from bunny and well bunny felt the great great offer for her love for the girl he want a life with. Now for some people this is cute and beautiful and stuff for some its annoying for some cringe and for some people its very unrealistic but let me tell you guys once you get feelings for a person they never just go away they get less with time and you don't recognise them but they are right there trying to hide somewhere and well it could get out someday you never know same happened to naina and bunny here and aditi avi part toh already make sense ✌🏾✌🏾

Hey girl, missed your videos. Enjoyed the movie in my 'youth'. Enjoy your rants very much. Still according to me, this sequel video just like bollywood ventures seems to be bit unnecessary and it nitpicks too some extend. Most of the points in the argument feels forced. Let me find a few... 1. Not smoking weed is not so uncommon, They have clear bias towards alcohol starting from the train scene. And there are also people around us who neither drink nor smoke. 2. Abhi's overcaring attitude is not alcohol induced, rather his personality trait. 3. Naina may leave her family, live alone after years or her parents may also die in between. So Abhi in the house and all the kissing and hugging followed is not so uncommon. Naina was studying md medicine at the first half. So she might be an super speciality senior resident or assistant professor or a practitioner. And believe me it's highly unlikely to get a job in your hometown after pg. 4. Hotel tv works mostly, with multiple channels. This is a silly point girl. 5. Bunny might have gone in paris, but as a photographer and his upcoming project was as an anchor which is totally different. 6. My friends also have done many unfriendly things using my phone. It's not that breach of privacy, rather abundance of kaminapan. 7. There is less fear of actually losing one's crush to an 'unattractive' person than to a good looking person. 8. rewatching own tv shows is not too narcisstic, that level of self love is very common in people. Though Bunny is an upright narcissist in the film, but this example does not prove that, cause his complaint in this scene was related to the abrupt change of channel by his friend where there was existing ego conflict and undercurrent of 'অভিমান' between them. Yes, the ending is disappointing. But don't you think, that's what life is! People fight to be or make the change and then settle somehow. All those jawani ka josh calms down and they take decision by head for other kind of লাভ. Aditi did the right thing, she found someone who actually loved her. May be she also loved her, may be not. Abhi is on the path of destruction from the first scene. Naina and Bunny gets along. But I think, their unhappy relationship/ divorce is also on the way. They are too different to be together. But Bollywood never tells the story of what happens after, and they lived happily for sometime. In those 'few' words, what I am trying to say, you are naturally funny with great observation skill and 'celebrity voice'. Do not try to create flaws and find them. Keep ranting. Waiting for your Tamasha review... Good morning btw.

Definitely your rants are just for fun. But they used to be grounded on solid logical base too. That somehow seems to be lacking in this episode.
