Guys the pretty skyline that you guessed was indeed Mumbai and all the scenes shot in "Naina's house" are shot in the same building as Chetana (the restaurant where we had dinner). And the views from the balcony are the amazing views of South Bombay with Marine Drive in the background ❤️

Aditi had genuinely the finest character arcs in this movie as she feels happy having an arranged marriage which she was so against in the earlier part of the movies.

So, there was actually a temple 🛕 at the top of Bhuta Mountain where all of them went for trekking 8 years ago. Naina wished that she can be with Bunny and her supplication has been accepted. Looks like you both really enjoyed the wedding scenes and rituals like Haldi, Sangeet etc. This is one of my most favourite movies and all the songs in this movie are just amazing. Loved your reactions and discussion ❤🎉

I think of the movie as Bunny’s trek into the forest of the unknown , and while the wild is exciting , everyone needs to rest and be themselves and not constantly be consumed by Adrenaline, and his friends are the treehouses , made and left by other trekkers and their experiences that seems so banal yet comforting . Each treehouse has a story to tell like his friends . Aditi’s story came full circle purely by accident and it was more to do with being the common grounding factor that brought each character back for the wedding . Usually rebels have no cause and she was the richest of them all and they start out as brats but realise there’s no future in that . Avi didn’t need much of a storyline but he was always shown as this confusing fun loving person who was never serious and you cement who you are as you age so the one immune to evolving was avi. Naina was still uptight but evolved from judging bunny during the trek to understanding him and then later aditi who she kept in touch with as a Best friend . We saw that she was obsessed with her work when she mentioned the clinic in the same sentence as her parents as she can’t differentiate on whose more important - the clinic or her parents . That she lives alone was also a callback to the first few scenes where her parents are on top of her heads and don’t understand her which is why she goes on the trek anyway. The movie also did a good job in showing us that not everyone is just one type . We are mentally divergent and think that in another life or with more money we can travel or not be so caught up in the mundane so Naina was very much suited to bunny because she had that adventure seeking cell in her but didn’t have the guts to give up a stable job and be a vagabond like bunny. Avi had a bit of rage not envy because like him bunny was unserious but made it to his dreams but he couldn’t but he failed to understand that for his dreams bunny had the courage and dedication to give up everything and everyone and be single minded no distractions . Avi wanted the good life with dad sponsoring his easy money churners like a bar but he didn’t want to commit to working hard. He’s also not the most astute in sensing or reading the room because if everyone could read that Aditi liked him and he couldn’t there’s something fundamentally wrong there. And he was always the gambler - betting his trek money on a cricket match. The signs were always there . The details in the movie too. What was interesting about the movie was that everyone shows you the ladder going up towards your dream and the people you leave behind but no movie shows climbing down and meeting the same people you left behind. Like the poem Ulysses , many people are ok with the daily grind being the same and some can’t stay put , death of a parent or not. The detail no one talked about and you did was the montage scene of introducing the successful vagabond bunny in Paris eight years later , and the makers inserting a quick graveyard scene. There’s a reason why people who lose their parents especially mothers early on, get so detached and self centred to the other parent whose also busy working and trying to compensate for the late parent, and also if the parent remarries for the child’s sake because his father clearly didn’t have kids with his second wife , and it wasn’t about replacing his wife, and that is they don’t want to get close to the surviving parent in case he also passed away. And I like that Naina didn’t give him a hard time and silently hugged him when he shared that he couldn’t make it to his fathers funeral because he didn’t have a cell reception in the mountains. Point is , even the closest of parents and children, who live in the same house because Indians do, do have a job or a life . The child can be on holiday or a conference and even if you can come back take a flight and be there for the funeral , you’ve missed the final goodbye because all of us want to be there in the final moments of a parent we love. So either way death is funny because while it releases the person from the drama of life it doesn’t provide closure for loved ones. Bunny didn’t seem to have any family except the step mom . His friends would have left after the funeral back to their respective lives . So what was the point of coming back ? So I don’t see why Avi needed to bring it up and mixing it with Aditi not having any expectations from him. From experience I know that if you don’t expect a result , the result comes. But if you play it out loud and how you want it to be and not open to change , it never does and it feels like a gross miscalculation. Maybe bunny wanted the stability his mother and father produced together even though they were not well off so he sees that with Naina but he wanted to strike a balance too and travel does bring that joy that nothing else can. So he Canceled PARIS as a host of the show but he didn’t give up on his love for travel saying that he will continue doing that but with Naina . It shows that you don’t have to give up on yourself or your love for a spouse . You can find a healthy balance with an understanding partner . This movie will always be refreshing and relatable even 50 years down the line.
