As there are many coments for raga JOG & it likes surely that,But in a live programme vdo Mehdi hassan ji himself announced the raga Madhukauns before starting this song. 🙏

Even I think that this ghazal is based on Raag Jog. The initial sargam-cum-alaap is from Raag Jog. Both Raag Jog and Raag Madhukauns have some similarities, so people with a untrained ear may easily get confused. The best explanation would be that Mehdi Hassan ji has sung this ghazal earlier someplace in Raag Madhukauns. But over here, he sang the same ghazal in Raag Jog.

@@nvjournalist8842 Sorry sir...Jog has similarity with Raag Tilang , not with Madhukauns...Madhukauns is derived from Raag Chandrakauns plus Raag Madhuvanti...So sometimes we feel similarity with Chandrakauns or Madhuvanti when we listen Madhukauns...
