Great video, excited for more. I played hundreds of hours of these games and have only found a shiny once, ...at the start, before getting pokeballs.

It's definitely short enough for a quick replay, you can't really go wrong.

Had no idea that Speed increased crit chance in this gen. It's always irritated me that Speed has no consolation prize to it. Narrowly losing a speed matchup, or winning a speed matchup by an excessive amount, are both fruatrating situations since speed provides no other benefits. Crit chance is probably a bad idea since sweepers are already so scary, but I wish Speed did something scalable. I was surprised that Pokemon Legends Arceus had a speed system similar to FFX.

To be clear, it's specifically a Pokemon's base speed; leveling up doesn't increase it at all. I do agree that it would be nice if it had some kind of consolation prize, because it being the most important stat (in a way) means that your investment in the stat can be totally meaningless. But that's why Trick Room and the like exist, I guess. Also I didn't know Arceus did that with speed, that's pretty cool.

@@SuprapikaYeah I suspect they were just experimenting since it's a spinoff and the battles barely matter. The UI has turn priority timeline, and a major difference in speed can result in the faster pokemon getting more turns. It's hard to even tell if it's a good change since the battles aren't hard.

@@gungore4424 I'd definitely be interested to see how that would impact the main series. It would definitely make the single player even easier than it already is (and continues to be), but competitive implications would be interesting.
