Summary: don't have any vacuum in the system when the pump is off. For Fischer Lav-3 users, you can simply use the Air Ballast Valve to release vacuum before turning the pump off. But it is better to purchase the LAV-3WAYVALVE so as to not wear out the Air Ballast Valve threads and for easier and faster vacuum release.

This pump has showered it's oil all over a customer's kitchen by blowing it's oil out the fill port on startup. I now tie a rag around the fill port to prevent this. Never had this problem with any other pump . What's up with that?
