I am completely phobic about wasps of any kind, and have studied them a good deal (from afar). This was the most informative "lesson" I have come across. Thanks so much for posting!!!

shoot.. I just used foam and sealed the hole without puffing dust... I got stunk in the finger and my knee while doing so and I just had to ran off and hide. will the colony die inside the house or will they dig a hole elsewhere or come into the house and hang out? I notice there are lots of dead bodies inside the house everyday before I sealed the hole from the outside.

This is the issue I’m my garage. They’re coming in two holes outside concrete block wall, but when I open the garage there’s many many dead ones inside. I commented above how we have some very happy spiders:) What did you finally do to rid of them?
@barryliu8 Жыл бұрын
I have 2 different colonies from 2 different holes. I used delta dust for one of them and it worked in 2 days.. Just puff lots of dust into the hole at night time when there was no activities. I used Spectracide Wasp, Hornet and Insects Killer from home depot or amazon and delta dust on day 2 after it's dry. Delta dust must be used when it's dry since it's not water proof. There are no more this year. But I'm prepared if they ever come back.... just delta dust and spectracide spray at night time. @@kelseydavis2600

We currently have them in a cement block wall of our garage, like this one here. There’s two holes near the top of the garage, and I see how they come in and out like you mentioned. We recently moved here ans have no clue how long they’ve been there. But when we open the garage after a day or two of not being in there, it the next morning, and there’s SEVERAL dead ones laying about. We have a couple of very happy spiders in there right now 😄 The amount of dead jackets tells me the next in the blocks could be huge. How fast can their hive grow?? We were thinking of just spraying those holes at night up on a ladder, but wondering if they’ll all swarm into the garage then. Appreciate and advise and thanks for the video!

why not tape over the other three holes, treat one hole, then move the tape, do the next hole and repeat until all holes are treated. That way they can't get out except that one hole (which by that time should be fllled up with the aerosol or duster straw)
@aspiechan4203 жыл бұрын
Put spray foam or glue in the holes so they can’t get out. They’ll all die within a few days.

I seem to have a yellow jacket nest in the wall of my home. I constantly heard a crackling/scratching noise, and I thought it may have been bats. (since we had a bat issue living on our front porch. So I lightly tapped the ceiling thinking it was an animal and a small portion cracked open and some yellow jackets came out. I'm concerned there are thousands living in the walls. Should this be dealt with by a professional. What would you suggest?
@pestcemetery10 жыл бұрын
Yes I would. It's one thing if the nest is out in the open for all to see but inside the wall gets tricky.
@videogamejo10 жыл бұрын
Pestcemetery .com We're thinking of getting a professional like a bee keeper. A family friend who is a beekeeper told us that a professional would spray some type of insecticide from the outside and that would force them to come out. But I also read that insecticides can drive the yellow jackets further into the walls. It seems to me opening up the wall and removing them would be the best bet. I think my father wants to shoot some Raid in the opening, do you think that's a wise decision? I get the feeling it wouldn't help because we don't know how big the nest is and it may kill some Yellow Jackets, but not all. How would you tackle a yellow jacket problem in the second floor of a home? I live in NJ, and it does get cold in the winter. Could they survive through the winter in our walls?

I get stung through my bee suit every time I use it. Get a gotcha pole duster. It will save you time not having to get in and out of a bee suit and you can stay away from the nest and never have to be on a ladder near a nest. I know you are a professional, but if you get a pole duster, you will love it. Besides, who wants to wear a bee suit on a hot day. I went 10 years wearing one and went to a pole duster and haven't taken my bee suit out in 3 years.
@pestcemetery11 жыл бұрын
I have 3 such dusters and use them all the time. You're right, usually quicker work with low risk. I went 20 years without a suit myself... some jobs get pretty hairy-so I figured it was time.

@@the_jjofficial I ended up buying a shop vac and propping it up an inch from the hole for a few hours with soapy water in the vacuum's receptacle. After that time there was a good 50-100 wasps in there. It seems to have taken care of the problem. Good luck.

Delta dust mostly. I use CB 80 or 40 as this is more of a 'fog' when it's shot. That fills the void whereas other aerosols are more of a jet stream and just soak where you shoot

Jerry, Drione IMO takes a little too long and is call for call backs. I have had better results with Tempo or a mix with both, CB80 works great for small nests if caught early enough. I was really watching your video to see if you had better ideas then what I was doing. I have to admit there was one nest I got tiered of going back to and I used a neo nick with a vapor can and that was the end in less than 8 hours. Thanks for the Video. Feel Free to PM.

Hi Jerry, I've had a problem with yellow jackets pretty much all summer. They have built a nest in my soffit just above my front door. I have tried every product i can get a hold of in town. Raid Power, Raid hornets and wasps killer and some other generic brands. I sprayed at night or very early dawn into their port of entry, but when i come home from work later that day, they are out full swing. I really don't know what else to do, fall is just around the corner but will they survive the winter months? It's gets really cold up here (canada) but i would love to resolve this issue ASAP. Any thoughts?? thanks.
@pestcemetery10 жыл бұрын
The spray is obviously not spreading throughout the nest.. You could try an insect dust or powder... Being that it's above your door I think it might be best to call out a pro. Or wait till winter-- all the workers will die and you can seal off the entry so this doesn't happen again.

Yellow jackets ! in and out, in and out. i didnt have any dust, so i used Rainbow #88500, now i here buzzing in the wall almost at a constant. : ) now im off to the store to find this dust, i will dust them at night time for a stealthy kill. any other suggestions?

Permethrin dust in a puffer tube has always worked best for me. The dust I use ISN'T an instant-knock down like the oil-based liquid but actually gives them about 30 seconds of blind, stupid behavior while they desperately try to flee the nest. This works well when I hit them at night because they all come pouring out of the entrance hole(s) on their last legs, fall onto the floor with an audible click and lay there spasming for a minute or so in a giant pile. Less cleanup for me.
