Super gooseberries. Huge! I think I've already said they are brilliant for eyesight. I just went to the Yarralumla Heritage nursery here in Canberra Australia and found some bilberry and black currant plants. I was so excited as they are hard to find here. I'm trying to gather berries for the antioxidants and eye health benefits. A punnet of berries have gone up to $8 - $12 And I just don't want to pay that. Even frozen berries, blueberry, raspberries etc are $12 now. 😮 I just watch a youtube on Brittains Forgotten Pensioners. It was sad but also scary. People are really living on the edge buying a tin of soup and making it last 2 days. Such poor nutrition but that's how they survive. Great to see your healthy 10 p deals. I've got no idea what scotch egg is. 😊😊

Good morning, Jill, from Windermere, Florida 9b USA 🇺🇸 We spent $20,000 to have 33 solar panels installed on our roof. We have 2 meters on our house. We send power to the electric company during the day when it's sunny and we aren't using it and we draw from the electric company at night and cloudy days. Because we didn't buy the $10,000 battery to store our electric we pay a grid charge to the electric company. 6 years ago it was $9/month. 6 years later it's been raised twice and is now $33/monthly. It doesn't seem right since we laid out the $20,000. We are taking the strain off the electric company to produce more. But what can we do, other than buy a huge battery and know that it have a shelf life, too. I guess we go along to get along Take care of yourself ❤Peggy❤

I just read your comment Peggy and $20,000 is a huge amount. Do you have government rebates on solar? From Belinda in Australia 😊😊

@bluefoxblitz8416 At the time we received almost a $5,000 tax rebate. We recouped it over the following 5 years. Thanks for asking. We are also frugal people who live in a development. We do what we can. Hello to you in Australia 👍

@@peggyhelblingsgardenwhatyo7920 I'm so glad you got a rebate. Yes being frugal has become a necessity now. We had to pay $8,000 to get the stairs replaced on our outdoor deck. I couldn't believe how much it was. My idea of costs are decades old. $200 barely goes far and most quick jobs are between $500 to $800, gardening, plumbing etc. I get $1064 a fortnight so they nearly take my fortnightly pay. I'm like Jill, hunting bargains where I can. I'm sure my children will be paying $40 for a burger in their lifetime.❤😊😊Belinda

Great find on the Scotch eggs.👍 Ourr electric bill for May was $186. July will probably be $250. I love the A/C up a degree or 2. Can't move it more of it won't be good for all our food storage. Have an awesome weekend.😃💗🌺

I am often reading debates on whether the standing charge is justified on the forum of MoneySavingExpert. The general consensus is that it is fair (even for low energy users) as we are all paying for the use and maintenance of the electricity grid infrastructure although I believe it also pays for the cost of all the suppliers who went bust.
