Love those DAW books Gary, the guide has been reprinted and now available on Amazon.

Hi Gary. Naturally I was delighted to see your appreciation of the DAW yellow spines. It was good to get a US perspective and always great to see those wonderful covers. I was particularly interested in that Jaffery retrospective. Must get me a copy of that from somewhere and thanks for providing the information because I was totally unaware. Thanks for the shout out by the way - I can use all the help that I can get 😄. Anyway great stuff and I hope you can add a few more to that bunch.

Awesome video. Have a stack of these myself, mostly in non collectible conditions, but I love the covers and still pick them up if the price is right.

Gary, it's great to see you on KZbin. I'm reading a DAW yellow spine Vance right now: Nopalgarth. I'm going to try and track down that A. Bertran Chandler book.

I do have a number of DAW Books, but only those written by my top three SF authors: Marion Zimmer Bradley, E C Tubb and James H Schmitz. Amongst them, I have the majority of the Cap Kennedy books - although some of the titles I have in the Gregory Kern collection were republished in the UK by Mews Books and retitled "F.A.T.E." books (Free Acting Terran Envoy) for some unfathomable reason.

Yes, never figured why they changed the titles. These are three of my favorite sf authors too, so many i could not mention them all.

Love those DAW covers even though some of those books weren’t very good. Nonetheless I have a few, including a couple with Bob Pepper covers.

covers are very nice but how are the actual stories of these vintage books? tried to read a few before (especially the early Nortons) and they could not hold my interest. different times, different tastes IMO.

Depends, some are surprisingly good, others surprisingly bad. A mixed bag.
