After watching this again I have a different angle on this: If just one of those kids in that audience went out and bought a No Use album after Yellowcard played this song, then that's one more person through which Tony Sly's music will live. Good job, Yellowcard.

No Use for a Name was such an influence growing up. One day after school I went to the room I shared with my older brother and he had the album More Betterness in his CD player and after the first couple songs I went to our local music store and bought the CD just so that I would have to ask him to listen to it! Tony Sly will always own a part of my childhood and hope that my kids will appreciate the talent he had.

This video made me happy for three reasons. 1.Yellowcard is amazing, they are hands down one of the greatest pop punk bands. 2. It's so cool that they paid tribute to Tony, he needs be remembered. 3. Alex Gaskarth playing a skate punk song, One of those rare moments that pop punk is brought back to its roots. NUFAN never got the chance to be as famous as All Time Low, when they should've been or even more.

Went to numerous of NUFAN shows in my day. Skated for countless hours with Tony in my head. Last time I saw them was in '03. I had tickets to a show in 2010 but skipped because my old self was too busy with work. Not sure I'll ever forgive myself for that.

When your audience doesn't know about this song that means there is something wrong with the whole picture. Nice tribute tho
@MrYogimus778 жыл бұрын
+1gab No, there is nothing wrong with this whole picture. #1, this is from 2012 and the kids at Warped were like 4 years old when NUFAN was relevant. #2, NUFAN is less known, but was extremely influential to Yellowcard. It is absolutely appropriate. They covered it as a tribute. Bands do it all the time. Bigger, better bands and artists than Yellowcard as well.

What a classy tribute of one of the bands that influenced them. They even canceled their acoustic set to practice this song.
@LeShorte12 жыл бұрын
They learned a song in three hours. It was ready for public consumption and they incorporated violin. That's not an easy feat. They were the only band that day to do this. Have some respect.

Honestly this video makes me really sad as tony sly was an amazing person/singer/songwriter and he obviously influenced yellowcard very much but the amount of people moving in this crowd is pathetic even after they said their friend died.

If you curse during warped tour you dont get paid for the performance. Its complete bullshit. Punk rockis supposed to be about taking it to the man. Now its just another money making machine. Support your local bands and promoters (I.e. Churchill's, Miami)
@TheEstates3312 жыл бұрын
i dont like how he censored "its all fucked up" you saw him mouth the words just not sing them.. afraid your gonna offend your 15 year old fan base?? i think this was a classy move.. and i believe it hit them hard too but for some reason that really bothered me.. i guess cause if you are gonna tribute someone, do it 100%, not 99%

Bands can hardly remember the lyrics to their own songs given how frequently they change their sets. By the way, he said "what's wrong", not "what song".

Bands like Yellow card and All time Low should never be allowed to cover NUFAN or bands alike.
@KevinSmith-qt4hz6 жыл бұрын
Any fans of NUFAN would appreciate the wide influence that the band had over three decades of playing music.
@donovanbaker38723 жыл бұрын
Why is that? They were paying tribute to a band that influenced them. Yellowcard came up with NFG and the Pop Punk scene, so I would assume they grew up on Nofx, NOFAN, lagwagon. Or just everyone on Fat Records and Epitaph. I like yellowcard and all time low is good at what they do so am I not allowed to like or know how to play NUFAN songs?
