do you find kachiwall useful at all if you're not behind without better columns? I'm testing stands in my build but I still really value 4 of all my stuff(draw, breakpass, unlock)
@YellowCardTCG
@YellowCardTCG 6 жыл бұрын
Even if you have "ideal" columns, stand triggers improve the quality of Winning Champ turns by extending the number of attacks you have post-vanguard. Obviously you shouldn't bank on drive checking them, but they give you additional procs of Winning Champ (effectively being +10k power triggers). They're less effective on the Favourite Champ turn, but the ability isn't 1/turn, meaning you can boost with Kachiwall to make columns (e.g. behind Golsachi or Sazanda the first time), and then choose not to return them to deck when stood by Favourite Champ until successive restands in order to fuel Favourite Champ's discard cost later. I agree that the deck has a lot of valuable triggers with strong effects, but I think that Breakpass is actually not at all that core anymore; the critical trigger is largely irrelevant because you're attacking them so much with such huge numbers anyway, and the effect when compared to Kachiwall is too awkward on your timings to be able to abuse properly; the go-to-soul draw is nice, but I think the deck draws enough, and Kachiwall enabling other effects is worth more than the +5k of Breakpass, I find. ~ Zy

Hey man on the turn you did the gachiwall/golsachi combo, you had an extra attack and missed it, when you restood gachiwall, you activated his skill to restand golsachi and granting him a 23k attack, but golsachi was still attacking, therefore the first time golsachi attacked he restands at that moment and he can attack again before the vanguard attacks, making it a total of 5 attacks
@YellowCardTCG

Hey! Good catch, you are correct, I could've gone 23 23 then winning champ to re stand him again! Goes to show the extent of how strong GachiWall is :) - Toku

Imo id go exsessive battler victor on vanguard. Stride to champ. Attack with sever temp boosted by kabutron. Swing with golsachi boostes to stand severtemper. Activate champs skill which puts you at gb2 to activate severs buff. Swing with sever again. Swing with champ soul blast to stand sever who has rush and kabutron who is in same collumn (if you havent added to soul all game atm you dont have any otherwise champs skill) apply all crits you get (if any to sever temp) attack with sever temp boosted by kabutron. Use kabutrons skillto stand sever then champs skill to buff sever. Swing with sever again. Id say having 3big attacks following 3 drive checks will take a lot of games earlier than most poeple expect.

Nice pattern! I agree that for the aspect of gameplay, should always swing with VG to donate triggers accordingly. Issue however, is that when you use kabutron to stand sevetemper, then chain with WChamp skill, at the time that severtemper stood, you were not GB2, so though bc of WChamp your severtemper can hit vg solo (assuming they didnt def trigger), you lose 5k that Sazanda wouldn't have lost, which is why you tend to see a lot of lists leaning towards Sazanda over severtemper at the moment. Nonetheless, thanks for your comment! I never thought about riding into Exxcessive alongside WChamp so this was cool to imagine! - Toku

Actually your at gb2 for the whole combo as the first time you stand sever with golsachi/coolhank/abarail you chain champs skill flipping up a stride card. That puts you to gb2 then you activate severs buff on every stand. Therefore everytime in the combo sever stands it gains 10k
@YellowCardTCG
@YellowCardTCG 6 жыл бұрын
This is incorrect. The very first time you stand a unit, GB2 isn't active. It's not a case of "I choose to resolve Winning Champ first, and then resolve Sever Temper". It doesn't work that way. Sever Temper never went on stand by for resolution because at the point the condition was met ("when this unit becomes stand"), GB2 was not active. Even if GB2 becomes active afterwards, the ability doesn't activate retroactively, since you missed timing. GBX restrictions are the same as "unless you are at this GB level, the effect isn't even printed", so when Sever Temper restands the first time, it doesn't even have any text saying "when this unit becomes stand", since GB2 is not fulfilled - the only effect that exists at the time Sever Temper stands is Winning Champ. And by the time you resolve Winning Champ, Sever Temper has been stood for a while. ~ Zy (actually a judge)

Sazanda power is 9000 and it's skill is when this unit stand due effect of your card +5000 so total 14000 my point is when he stand again is he continue to add power or reseted I mean is he getting etc first stand using golshachi skill it get 14000 the sazanda attack then stand again using victhead is he get another 5000 until the total 19000 or after it's attack it power back to 9000 again
@YellowCardTCG
@YellowCardTCG 6 жыл бұрын
Each +5000 lasts until the end of turn. So the first time he stands, he will be 14000. The second time, 19000 and so on. If it said "until the end of battle", it would reset.

that first combo would be better with kabutron as starter, as sazanda is restanding more times. In addition, Victhead is actually garbage because while it's not generation break, it requires you go first and also commit 2 cards to board, so it completely nulls the entire point of a starter that goes away before generation break.
@yoyopeeta

If you wanted a pre-G starter, miraioh is really the only option, as it goes to soul asap and can at least do something without committing to board

I'm going to upvote you for critical discussion, I enjoy critical discussion. Now, this is going to be in a future video, but theres a simple/abstract concept I like to call 'respecting the Win Con', the reason I like Victhead **at the moment** as a starter is because the WinCon is to second stride Favourite Champ and end it there, for that you need that 1 extra hand/soul/CC that Victhead all provides, because the ideal IDEAL goal is to end the turn with 1 CB open, and 1in soul that you enter your next turn with 2+ CB open and 2 in soul, that can get converted to more CB with DoganTitan, which leads to enough resources for triple Favourite Champ. In various testing, I loved Kabutron, being able to start off the Winning Champ flips felt amazing, and that led to Sazanda being rediculously big first stride, but the reason I'm favouring testing on Victhead right now is that he scales into resources for your Favourite Champ turn. - Toku

I can see your reasoning, however it is missing something crucial. This crucial feature is that when using kabutron as your starter, you force extra cards from your opponent's hand, which means that they have less to use to force cards from your hand to defend, and also have less cards in hand to block your next turn. Because of this, kabutron sets up a favorite champ turn very well, as it is providing extra pressure that requires less heavy lifting on your finishing push, as your opponent had to use more cards to guard your turn which they now don't have to deal with your kill turn. Despite this, the current meta favors starters that can easily be used before turn 3 without any setup, which is why miraioh is the best starter in the context of the current meta, as miraioh can be used turn 2 so you can gain more soul while still doing something without leaving a lock target for your opponent or allowing them to snipe your starter and prevent you from getting more soul for a winning champ turn. The difference between miraioh and victhead in terms of early-use starters is that victhead requires other cards on the field in order to be sent to soul, and if you are trying to use victhead's skill you are forced to commit several cards to board, which means you are giving your opponent several targets to lock or retire, which means you completely undo the entire effect of having a starter that goes to soul pre-generation break.

I'll 100% agree that using Kabutron as a starter leads to your opponent expending more from hand, I would not look down on anyone using Kabutron, I would not look down on anyone using Victhead, I would also not look down on anyone using the generic G3 tutors for their clan. I also play a lot of those starters in my decks out of respect for the meta. I think there are arguments for and against running each starter, and as long as your plays reflect the reasoning as to why you're running 'X' starter, they're all valid options. P.S. Big fan of your 'how to not' series. - Toku
