actually you don't. they song is supposed to be played on the low D not the A string.

Oh man, looking back at this video now shows how much i've progressed, I'm doing all downstrokes here but I probably wouldn't these days haha. Sound wise I believe it's pretty clean and I've just turned the tone knob down, a precision bass has a very specific sound, you'll see a lot of pop-punk players use them for this sound, but no palm-muting, I think it's just these pick-ups and my frantic down picking style haha.
