I live by a bison farm and I drive by them twice a day. I am amazed by the fact that the snow will fall on them and it doesn't melt! It just keeps piling up. They must be so insulated for their body heat not to even touch it. The babies in the spring are adorable too. I talked to the farmer once about them and he told me a story that when he first had them, he also had a horse and they killed it

If you want to see more Bison across the country you need to eat more Bison. Think about it, cattle number upwards of 94 million, Bison are at roughly 600,000. Cattle numbers reach this high because we as a society value them economically. Bison populations can continue to grow if there is economic incentive to do so. This can and is happening in large part to consumers speaking with their dollars.

What's always seemed odd to me are the early drawings of bison. None are accurate. The artists had never seen any animal like these. It took a long time before artists developed the skills to draw them accurately. Why was it so hard? I'm guessing we can only see and understand what we've already seen, what we've already understood. New ideas come hard.
@brucekuehn403110 ай бұрын
That would also be true of such animals as elephants, rhinos, giraffes, dolphins, etc.
@thomaspigg3063 жыл бұрын
What I find strange is that the narrator did not say Who slaughtered and killed all those buffalos. It wasn't the Indians. They knew enough to only take as munch as was needed. It was the white man who almost caused the extinction of these great animals. If you don't believe it, do your own research.
