From the way Kevin Costner says it, he got tired of waiting around and not being able to do other projects because he’s waiting for them to do more Yellowstone. Taylor Sheridan got too preoccupied with his other shows that he pushed back filming of the main series. It’s a damn shame. Sheridan should’ve done one show at a time.

Yep, Sheridan was simply trying way too fuckin hard to fill his 15 minutes of fame with too many projects at one time. Costner saw this especially when Sheridan had shoots for episodes scheduled, but at times didn't even have the scripts ready for them. It'd too damn bad, too....they had the largest tv audience in decades by the nuts and they turned it into a poor excuse for a pissing contest. I had told my family here in Evansville about it, got them all hooked on it, as well as my son and his family in Colorado. I've yet to see anything of the latest releases but from what I've heard, I aint looking forward to them. One of the greatest shows ever has died a very premature death because of a fuckin pissing contest....and that's a goddamned shame any way you slice it.

It is because Sheridan never has the scripts done on time. Kevin Costner is a consummate actor who wants to prepare his part. He wants to see where the series is going. Sheridan writes his screenplays via "focus group." Nobody in the cast ever knows what is going to happen next. It's a crappy way to work and Kevin finally had enough.

Taylor Sheridan is a talented writer without a doubt. I very seriously doubt he wouldn't listen to Kevin as far as storytelling. Taylor is good, obviously Yellowstone is great, but it's definitely no Dances with Wolves, which is by far one of, if not by far, one of the best movies of all time. I love Yellowstone, but if I'm honest I'm more excited for the 4 parts of Horizon. Hopefully he'll be back on Yellowstone, but if not it'll be fine.

I used to think that the exit of a main characfer would kill a show, but I've been proven wrong many times over. Take NYPD Blue for example. I thought that nobody could keep NYPD Blue worth watching after David Caruso left. Then I felt the same when Jimmy Smits left, then when Rick Schroder left and Mark Paul Gosselaar stepped in until the series finale. Costner is a very good actor, but nobody is irreplacable in a TV show, and I think his ego also got the best of him. Maybe the absolute dumpster fire that Horizon turned out to be will give him a much needed humblig and put his ego back in check.

Costner might be relatively unknown to this generation, but he is the one with a LONG history of behaving like this, i don't doubt sheridan did his own, but i guarantee costner started and is guilty of about 70% of all this and the fact the he also had beef with Lucas tells a lot. Even if you dont believe that, at the end of the day Sheridan is THE writer of the show and costner has no word in changing anything, period 🤷‍♂️

Kevin said he would continue to do the show, but he had his own stuff to do is life, didn't revolve her on yellowstone.He would shoot it if they wanted to do it in sections, but they thought they could run it.Most actors can't do that, but kevin ken.And as far as i'm concerned, i've seen the new episode and it's not the same without him

Yeah, what about the part where Taylor Sheridan repeatedly took way too long to serve the scripts. What are you supposed to do(as Costner) if you have your own big multi decade project going on. It's really unfortunate how this all ended up. But I'm betting(maybe we should start a petition) that they continue when Costner is mostly done with his project. I mean it wouldn't be the first project that got paused. For example. What is even up with Stranger Things? Isn't season 5 overdue since like 2018?

Costner is not as important as he thinks he is.A million dollars per episode is that not enough? I always loved Kevin Costner Callahan's movies are great. I think Yellowstone can survive without him!

They had a golden opportunity when his character was shot and left for dead on the side of the road. That would be a perfect exit for Costner and they could introduce another strong character that could help the story going forward. I didn't like the governor arc for him anyways.
