Holy smokes! I'm not sure of the exact date that you were in the Biscuit Basin area of Yellowstone during your visit, but there was a major thermal explosion there today (7/23/24)! Thank goodness that you and your family were not there today! There are quite a few videos being posted today of the explosion, so I'm sure you will see it. 😲🤯

I saw on Instagram a minute ago that there was a thermo blast in Yellowstone near a boardwalk (it was posted 2 hrs ago).. no one was injured but it looked terrifying! I wondered if you and yours were anywhere near and safe.. I love your videos & your positive attitude is fabulous and infectious… thanks Chris and fam!!!

We camped for a week in Yellowstone in a popup trailer. It is just an other worldly landscape. I feel so lucky to have seen all of the sights. This year my son and his wife and 2 sons camped in Yosemite. To get a reservation you go on line exactly 6 months before the day you want to go and if you are lucky you might get one. They had 4 computers and one got on for a reservation. You cant even drive into the park for the day without a reservation! Old Faithful is worth the wait!! Thanks for sharing.

Next time you find yourself in Yellowstone, there is an amazing overlook of the Grand Prismatic Springs opposite of the boardwalk you are on. You can walk to the overlook from the Fairy Falls trailhead. Having done both, the overlook is how you picture the Grand Prismatic Springs and you don’t have to deal with the crazy crowds. Really incredible!

I was almost abducted at the grand canyon by the falls. A family that was “not from the neighborhood”, wanted to take me home. So they were ushering and pushing me over and into their car. I was about 7. My brother who was 9 came and rescued me and pulled me back to our own family and car. I also got left at the rest stop by quake lake when my dad didn’t know that I had gone to use the restroom and drove away. He came back about an hour later to find me sitting by the road crying on a rock with a couple of bears down the road from me. Ahh growing up in the 70’s.

We like Yellowstone. My father in law used to go at least once a year, but his MS has made that less doable now. We've generally gone in the fall for less people. Good times. My daughter has been once, when she was 4. She called the geysers "pop up water".

7 years ago my gf back then tripped on her sandals at the old faithful inn and broke her arm at night at the lodge and she ended up being ambulanced to Rexburg Idaho while I followed in the truck. Put a abrupt end to our 8 day road trip from Texas to Washington. It was horrible but I'll never forget that. Loved yellow stone though I want to go back someday. Watch your step!!

Grand Geyser in the same area as Old Faithful has a +or- of 90 min, but it is soooo worth it. You are right up close to it and it is bigger and taller than Old Faithful. In fact it can sometimes have 2 or three eruptions close together. If you are lucky the 3rd time is gigantic! You just have to plan the visit when it is scheduled during daylight
