Most people think there is not a lot of wildlife to see on Gneiss Creek. I see wolves here more often than anywhere else. I am guessing it is the same pack of wolves that I always see, but I am not a wolf expert. In the past, I have seen both grizzly bears and black bears in this area. Check the Yellowstone maps to see when this area is open, and most of the time, you are required to stay on the trail.

We're from North Carolina, and just arrived in the Yellowstone area for our 17th annual Fall trek to YNP. We're here for over 2 months, headed home early November - yippee! I've hiked most every trail in YNP over the years, but never Gneiss Creek. It's now on our list for this year. Another fantastic hike that you inspired me to do Stan, was a traverse of Mt Everts from Lava Creek trailhead up and over to Rescue Creek trailhead. Being almost entirely off-trail is such an adventure - saw tons of wildlife. Did it in mid-October last year and saw three different, enormous herds of elk, one large herd of bighorn sheep yews and separately 5 full-curl rams (on McMinn Bench on the Gardiner side), and a couple of black bear. The top of Everts is pure-T wild Montana at its best - loved it. Thanks for your great work Stan which I've been enjoying for years.

Stan, I just discovered your videos recently and I'm enjoying them so much. The video quality is excellent! What I love most is that you let the video do most of the talking for itself. You say just enough to let the audience know where you are and what's going on with some pertinent commentary. Keep letting nature do the talking. That's what I'm here for. Thanks!

Stan: Thanks for taking us along. Like all your subscribers, I enjoy seeing the animals and the views and hearing the sounds in this wonderful place. In this video, I believe my favorite sight and sound was the segment of the creek water with scenery reflection at 7:18. Thanks so much for including that part of your hike. I played it several times over.

Hi Mr. Coyote, nice to see you here!! You have wolves too, do you not? Smaller, I think, and skittish, hard to find and see. The ancient ones had much respect for wolves, as do I. I have met a few captive ones in person and they are impressive with very intelligent eyes. In the wild I admire from a distance. Their voices in the night are haunting and not easily forgotten.

@@peggynulsen1365 Hello my friend, I like to visit some channels that are in contact with nature, here in B.C.S. There are no wolves, but there are in Chihuahua and other northern states. The Mexican wolf is as you say. There is no gaze more penetrating than that of a wolf, and there is no hunt more savage than that of a wolf. It was nice to greet you Peggy.

I can feel fall in the air already. Great footage of the pack. No collars on any of them? You would think they would be tracking the pack but I guess they can’t track every pack.
