This was a quick 2-hour session in Langebaan Lagoon. Epic session packed with fish and non-stop action.

Awesome video once again, really enjoying your content! May I ask what your trace setup was?

Hi sure I am always happy to share. I spotted the fish chase my bait as I reeled in and they were not feeding well on the thick leader. I then decided to go down to 0.5 mm fluoro carbon. I fished a 4/0 and 5/0 BKK inline circle and my hook trace was about 50cm - 60cm with a snell knot on the circle hook and a three way swivel. My sinker line was about 15cm. I only used the tail end of the bait as I could hook it streamlined so it does not spin on the strong current. I dropped right below the kayak set a fairly tight drag. Sinker weight was 1oz. I hope this helps.

@James-yx7kb3 ай бұрын
Hi there, no trolling motor. We paddle up to 40km a day. I am glad you enjoy the video.

If we all release cob over 5kg and only eat the odd ones under 5kg there will be an explosion in cob numbers

Looks like a fun day! Love yellowtail sashimi! Here we have amberjack though not yellowtail but they are cousins. How do you have your anchor trolley rigged up????? Run a stealth 525 and have a rigged up anchor trolley think probably close to what you’ve done?? but just wondering how you did yours? Thanks man, cheers!

It was indeed a fun day! We mainly get yellowtail, snoek and bonito and some tuna in our local waters with lots of bottom species as well. I would have loved to have amberjack here but we get the odd tropical yellowtail if they come in with the currents. My anchor system is pretty simple: 2 pulley, one on the front handle and one on the middle handle with a loop in the line to attach the float and anchor to. You then anchor and pull it so the loop is at the nose of the kayak easier than just a rope tied to the nose with a float. Cheers
