I had traveled Japan four times, each being about 4 to 6 days schedules: Tokyo Kyoto(+Nara) Osaka Hokkaido. The best experiences I had in Japan were in Kyoto and Hokkaido. Kyoto was small enough to go around on a bicycle, and it had mini surprises every corners, alleyways, backstreets you encounter. I loved just leisurely walking around parks, temples, and shrines at days and barhoping locar bars and breweries at nights. In Hokkaido, I'd traveled in late spring, rented a small bike, and just wandered around anywhere my wheels would take me. Everyone talks about Snowy Hokkaido, but Hokkaido in less busy times is nice also, if not better. Osaka, on the other hand, was absolutely terrible; you'd wait in lines for more time than you'd actually spend seeing places and doing stuffs. Maybe a bit better to a person who knows how things work there, but that is not me. Tokyo, in the same sense, was over my paygrade to travel or to critic properly. It might be too huge for you, too, if you're reading this.

I have to say watching your videos has gotten me interested in taking a trip back to Japan. I haven't been there since 2006. I was stationed there for three years in the military, in Sasebo. I explored Fukuoka and Kumamoto quite a bit as well, and also went to Okinawa quite often during the course of our operations. This time I think I'd be more appreciative of the culture as now I'd be a private citizen and able to go wherever I wanted with no government restrictions, and also being older and more mature (although I think I would still love the nightlife quite a bit, assuming things still stay open all night). I'd be tempted to be nostalgic and see those cities again, but I'd probably actually go to Osaka, since that is a city I have yet to explore.

Currently in Japan, loving it, didn't realize it was such a cement jungle! Yes Narita is nice. Japanese food in Japan tastes the same in Southern California that's because we have Japanese chefs and large Japanese communities in California.

The thing with Haneda is that flying to that airport is more expensive than narita I'm in korea literally next to Japan And a flight to narita is 300 💸 And haneda is 800 dollars 💸 And I'm legit next door I usually pay more for convenience But that's quite a premuim Great content 👌 Super informative 😀 Greetings from Jeju island 🏝 korea 🇰🇷 ❤️

On a previous cruise we got to see a bit of Osaka, and Kobe. Cruising gives you a bit of a taste for the areas before you do an immersive trip. We now would like to do a 14 day trip around Japan to other places.

Love this video of trips to Japan! We were very apprehensive about going but were doing a cruise that started from Yokohama and we stayed in Yokohama for 2 weeks prior to the cruise. So much research about trains, etc. We did see the Yokohama area as well as went for a couple of day trips to Tokyo to see the Imperial Palace and the Ueno Zoo trying to use the train. Then once the cruise started we went to Aomori and Sapporo before going to Alaska. There is so much information to seeing Japan, I found. As someone in the comments said there is a lot of cement there. The biggest challenge for us was food, as we both do not like seafood and are not very adventurous when it comes to food. Luckily the 7-11's saved us. The hotel we stayed at included breakfast but even that was a challenge. Your videos make is seem so doable. I liked the idea someone asked about you taking a group ;)

I fly in via Osaka (love the approach) and out from Tokyo. A friend always does it the other way around. In Tokyo, I also stay close to the Yamanote-Linie. My ideal day is Yamanote-Linie to my starting point, walk all day, Yamanote-Linie back. And as an Anime Fan, I recommend a day in Akihabara (although every anime probably already knew that) Despite it being a tough visit (emotionally), I would recommend to include a trip to Hiroshima - 1 day for Hiroshima, 1 day on Miyajima. And on my way to Tokyo (from Hiroshima), I step out on the way to visit the castle in Himeji (suitcase locked at the train station). I actually never spent any time in Osaka, was told it’s not as good as Tokyo or Kyoto (plus, I think the castle is „just“ rebuilt, not historical) Nara also has a famous Big Buddha besides the deer. I stayed at 3 different capsule hotels and they were all ok. Snoring was ok and cleanliness was really good (and absolutely fantastic compared to the Hostel I stayed in for my first trip to NYC)

If your city does not have a proper 10 15 or 20 line train or metro , it's going to be a little bit difficult the tokyo train/metro to understand, but thanks to videos like yours ppl can understand it more easily. ❤

As per the Japanese Heath department web site you don't need the shot to enter the country. You do need a nagitive test 72 hrs prior to arrival. As for masks as long as your out side and not in large groups of people you don't need a mask. They do ask you wear a mask inside but there's no such thing as a mask mandate in Japan. In fact the current prime minister is encouraging people not to wear their masks.

Tokyo is not three syllables, Tok EE YOh. It is only two syllables, Tok Yo (no EE sound in the middle).
