As the title suggests: You only hear the original Elvis' main vocal track from the recording session, and only the original piano from the recording session January 15, 1969, recorded at American Sound Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. It is the master take 3.

Theoretically, ALL instruments from the complete Memphis sessions from January and February 1969 are on a single, separate track, as we have 24 individual tracks here, and NOT - as is often misrepresented - just 8 tracks.
In this respect, my work, the separation or extraction of Bobby Ray Wood's wonderful piano, is an effort and work that you can actually save yourself if you have the original session tapes =)
However, no matter which instrument you look at individually from the session: They were all highly professional musicians who harmonized exactly with Elvis. My piano version is an example of how Bobby Ray Wood understood and internalized the essence and character of the song, and plays the piano SO emotionally that not many musicians can, and although Elvis was NOT present and singing on this recording, he only recorded his vocal track later.
For a long time I had the desire to pay tribute to this piano playing and to offer a unique piano version of "Don't Cry Daddy".
This is by no means intended to overshadow the work of all the other musicians in this session, who all did an excellent job.
Because one thing should never be forgotten: Elvis could be as good as he wanted - without his musicians he was only half as good.
I hope you like what I offer with this song. =) All of my stereo versions are encoded with an encrypted stream, so that the origin of exactly THIS version can be proven at any time. Even after multiple encoding into other formats. Therefore, the sources you use should definitely be cited, and everything is okay. I do that too.
