I am a Bayelsan living in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and it gladdens my heart to watch this video about my state's Capital. Bayelsa was created in 1996, and when the first Governor, Navy Captain Ayeni arrived in Yenagoa to take up his new post, he could not find anywhere to stay, because Yenagoa then was a glorified village with very few good roads, no water, no electricity, no GRA and no decent hotel. The Governor solved his accomodation problem by forcing the Yenagoa Local Goverment Chairman to pack out of his residence and office, so that he, the Governor could move in. From the beginning, accomodation in Yenagoa was a very serious problem until the administration of Diepreye Alamieyeseigha decided to build a new Capital on a virgin plot of land. The result is what we are seeing in this video, and it looks very nice.

The city looks beautiful. I was in Yenagoa some years ago, and I drew the conclusion that the city has the potential to develop from scratch through proper planning

Yes a young State but Lacks proper town planning. In fact they're building slumps not city of today I don't know if the future. With a blessed resources like dat mehn. Yenagoa was finer as a local government than this state capitol scrap. God help this state because my people deserve more

Everything in Bayelsa looks like it was built in the year 2000 or later . I didn't see any antiquated or hostoric structure. Nice video 😊

I really detest people who criticise vloggers! They come over as greedy and entitled! “I thought u would have went to inside town, Tombia, swami market and rest” CHRIST !!!!!! Apart from the very bad English, what stops you from picking up your own phone/camera and going to film any damn place you want??? People need to understand that Tolu Nazzal is a complete stranger to Bayelsa, she is not supposed to know everywhere! Just appreciate the vloggers vlog and be quiet!!
