While I understand not judging a book by its cover, but people must understand that people naturally don't respond quickly to persons who seem stoic whereas a warm personality is more endearing and easier for people to respond positively to. Smile at the world and the world will smile back at you. That's it. However, she is the Double Olympic Champion twice around first woman ever to accomplish this.

Exactly. Listening to Elaine and Shelly-Ann and Dina-Asher Smith and Gabby Thomas and Allyson Felix speak (all the "and"s are on purpose, LOL) is like a breath of fresh air, not because they are articulate, but also very composed and graceful. I LOATHE the ratchet-speak of some of these athletes and celebrities. Even those whom people fawn over because of their looks become real ugly when they open their mouths.

I want to be as cool as Elaine when I grow up! Even though I'm already 10 years older lol. She's a freakin star! So glad she managed to overcome the injury and retain the title. Looking forward to seeing her smash the 200 tomorrow and also looking forward to seeing what hair she will have. Did anyone else catch that she'd changed her wig after the 100 race so she had a different style on the podium. Elaine is too cool! Love her.

The epitome of humility. Stay humble, stay hungry , stay truthful. Ignore the preconceived notions about you. I am 65 years of age and I can relate, truly relate to being incorrectly judged because of not perpetually grinning. We cancerians smile with our hearts, not always our face

When I say Elaine Thompson is so discipline, I say it with the biggest admiration I could express. She puts the S in Self Discipline , she puts the D in Discipline. I love how she arises from the fast ash, like a Phoenix, out of “nowhere” with her dreams bigger than life, even from a poverty background, she remained humble, but so darn focus. Man I love this woman. Big ups to Yendi, my 2007 Miss Jamaica World, my dream girl 😝😜😍

This interview put a smile on my face. I came back after the Olympics. I think when you're about your business and people wanna "fast" they will always go to the negative. Keep being humble and become the better version of you. Always stay "hungry"...oh, Elaine I really like your married name. Not common.

Agree - her name sounds so good double barrelled. She's also making the name 'Elaine' cool. In the UK it's kind of name associated with middle aged white women people born in the 50/60s - Elaine is singlehandedly making it cool again!
