It's explained in the books, which is much better than the show despite me liking it. I think the short story is called "The last wish", same as the name of the book. Basically Geralt and Dandelion where fishing and they picked up a Djinn, which is some kind of a genie. So they thought Dandelion had 3 wishes. If memory serves right I think Dandelion had made 2 random wishes, and Geralt said use it wisely. The Djinn attacked them and Dandelion told Geralt that there's some type of magic word that can alter Djinns and then he said the word. The Djinn left Dandelion hurt and they rushed to where Yennefer was staying at. I forgot the details but basically after talking about the djinnYen put some spell on Geralt to make him pass out. When Geraly woke up he landed in prison. A prison cellmate explained to him what happened, from Geralt screaming and doing mischievious things with people with Yen controlling him and I think Yen had beef with someone of high office and Geralt insulted him or something? But yeah after the incident Geralt talked to the guard and he pinned him to the wall and the guard asked something along the lines of "any last wish" (what a pun). And Geralt said "I wish you would burst" and burst he did. Yen was tring to do something about the djinn and is trying to open something or whatever it is and Yen made Dandelion wish something after treating him? I forgot but then Yen realized that she couldn't handle the djinn and it was hard to do because Geralt actually had the 3 wishes, but then it was too late, the djinn was released and is powerful now. I think Geralt was to be executed but the Djinn was too powerful not to notice. When Geralt talks about the magic words he said to the djinm to yen earlier she laughed, a soldier also laughed when they talked about it. Before he was given permission to help yem he asked what the magic word was that made the djinn disappear but it was just a different language of "leave and go fuck yourself" lol. But back to the topic, Geralt and yen was being beaten up by the djinn and Yen got angry because why would Geralt go back to save her when she wronged him. Geralt said something about saving her. I forgot the other lovely parts but Geralt wished that he'd bound his fate to hers, which is not the misconception of both of their fates bound together. That's why Yen said "why me" and not the way she acted on the show. It was never said what it was truly was but it was something about "she can't die when I'm alive" and they found a loophole because the djinn can't kill it's master so it can't kill Geralt, and with Geralt bounding himself to Yen, the djinn can't kill Yen because if it can then Geralt would also die, which again is prohibited so Geralt and Yen realized this and thanked each other and reconciled? and of course you know how it ends, sex.

They never specified it in the book, but it was definitely not something like ,,i wants us to be together'' more like something that was supposed to ensure Yen survived the encounter with the genie, and something that made her look at the Geralt in a different way (not forced by a wish).Book Yen would probably burn him alive if he tried to force her to be with him, even if it meant that she herself would die.
