Played there for Bath City in the old Southern League days in the early 60’s. We had a player sent off and we lost 4-3. I was lucky enough to score our 3 goals. Interesting ground with the slope.

I remember this happening. Then Yeovil had probably the most successful period in their history after moving to Huish park. In fact not probably but definitely. I follow a non league team and Yeovil were non league at that point so it was good to see them progress.

It went very wrong at first. Increases in costs between when the deal was done and when the stadium was actually finished left the club in a very difficult financial position by the mid-90's and they were relegated from the Conference in 1995. They got back in 1997, and from that point were able to push forward, winning the Conference in 2003 - everything that happened after that would not have been possible had we stayed at the old Huish, we would have been denied promotion due to stadium regulations.

£2.8 million in 1990...£2.8 million in 2022. Ironic!

£2.8 million was what Tesco paid for the land the old ground stood on, so coincidence really and nothing to do with the new ground.
