How did you move the key start to the front and got rid of the stock key start box that was attached to the motor

Still following your build and doing something very similar so thank you! Ive got the stock 420 with gov and using the stock throttle linkage but it will barely move. Did you experience this too?

Thanks, I've got a lot of content to upload. I installed billet flywheel, alternator, front brakes. Stock 420 ran fine for me. You say the kart barely moves as long as the throttle linkage moves the lever you should be fine. What are the symptoms? I ran stock for a while before modifications. Thanks for the quick replies always, I just feel that the gas pedal doesn't move the lever enough to really get it going. It could just be the gov. Still messing with it. Ive built a 212 with billet stuff and connected throttle cable straight to carb butterfly valve, I was just hoping to keep the 420 stock and not mess with it.@@justinsauer5682

@@BrandonHawkins-e4p if your throttle cable is moving the engine throttle lever its full range, as if you were moving the throttle lever by hand, then the issue is not the throttle cable. Just make sure the engine throttle lever is being fully engaged when you press on the pedal. Another thing you can do is look in the intake of the carburetor, the butterfly should be completely opened at full throttle (pedal fully down) if not then your throttle linkage is screwed up somewhere. If you're air filter is extremely dirty and restricting air flow that will also cause it to run sluggish as well l. Governor only engages at higher RPMs to slow down the engine. I don't think it's an issue with the governor. It should run well with it in, with lumitted RPMs.

Thank you, I adjusted the throttle to already pulling on the arm more and its better. Im positive I will eventually go billet on rod and flywheel again... lol. what's your opinion on the shift to bypassing the gov and connecting straight to carb butterfly? Much better?@@justinsauer5682

@@BrandonHawkins-e4p you'll definitely tell the improvements removing the governor. I'm not sure how just to by-pass it. If you remove it, one thing you need to know the ignition coils of the 420cc still have a spark limiter in them so you'll not be able to reach max RPMs unless you buy the an ignition coil without the spark limiter. That's what I did. Careful though it's recommended to upgrade to billet flywheel if you're planning in running max RPMs. Cast iron flywheel could explode at higher rmp 4k +.
