Hi Kevin! I love v-picks! My favorite is the Dimension 4.0 Smoky Buffed. It has 2 rounded corners and the tip is pointed. The tip, with the beveled edges works great (for me) on fast picking passages.

I use thumbpicks to play mostly, because I do play chickin pickin and finger style blues a lot. I do find when I use regular picks that are thin it is hard to control. I mostly been a heavy guy before switching to thumbpicks but even then I use heavy.

Man I truly envy you chicken pickin guys! One of my students Erick Walls uses a thumb pick and he burns down the fretboard!
